Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify both views: online entertainment is presented as a reason cinemas are less important, while cinemas and theatres are described as cultural places where people spend time with family and friends. You also give a personal opinion in favour of their cultural value. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the economic importance mentioned in the prompt is not explained, and the online-view argument is mostly a list of people watching shows on phones rather than a developed reason. Examples and supporting details are limited, and the final sentence is unfinished. The response is also 12 words below the required minimum. Develop each side with a clear reason and a relevant example, then complete your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is an attempt to organise the response using labels such as “Introduction” and “overview,” and “on the other hand” signals a contrast between the views. However, the ideas do not progress clearly: the second section repeats that people watch entertainment on mobile phones, then shifts to older people and family memories before returning to the writer’s opinion. The labels do not create clear, developed paragraphs, and several sentences run together, making relationships between ideas difficult to follow. The ending, “the people were usuing the mobile,” is incomplete. Arrange the response into an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion; use linking phrases only where they clarify the connection.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “digital age,” “cinemas,” “theatres,” “cultural places,” and “social media,” so the main topic is generally recognisable. However, the vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with “people,” “watching,” and “mobile phone” recurring without much variation. Several spelling and word-choice errors also make the writing harder to read, such as “fevourite,” “cinenas,” “culturall,” and “openion.” Some phrases are not natural in this context, including “spend our golden time them” and “create a memories.” Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
You attempt to express connected ideas and contrast the two positions, but sentence structures are very limited and frequent grammatical errors sometimes distort meaning. Verb forms are often incorrect: “we were discuss” and “people were says” should use forms such as “we will discuss” and “people say.” Agreement and pronouns are also problematic in “theatres and cinemas has it own value” and “they have spend times.” Articles and sentence boundaries need attention as well; several ideas are joined into long strings without clear punctuation, and the final sentence is unfinished. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “while,” or “although.”
