Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear preference for theatres and cinemas in the conclusion. Relevant points include the live experience, actors’ emotions, employment and economic activity, and the way films can share culture. However, these ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that online viewing means actors “didnot achieve that much of money” needs clarification and support, and the economic and cultural effects are not developed with specific examples. The online-viewing perspective is also treated somewhat narrowly, with viewers described as “lazy” rather than its benefits being explored in depth. Develop each side with a reason and a concrete example, and make your position clearer earlier in the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. You also use basic signposts such as “On the otherside” and “In Conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several points are joined into long, loosely connected sentences. For instance, the paragraph about theatres moves from actors’ emotions to good movies, economic activity, and culture without clearly showing how the ideas relate. References such as “this” and “their” are sometimes unclear, and linking phrases are repetitive or inaccurate. Give each paragraph a clearer central point, order supporting details logically, and use precise references and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “live moments,” “emotion,” “producer,” “economically,” and “culture,” and you try to discuss both cultural and financial effects. However, the range is limited and many word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning hard to interpret. Examples include “the feel of the joyness,” “the economy is rotate,” and “enjoy self company.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “theator,” “becuase,” “econmically,” and “culturelly” also reduce clarity. Build a more reliable set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; prefer straightforward, accurate expressions over ambitious phrases that do not convey a clear meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to combine ideas in longer sentences, including with “because” and “but,” and the overall message can usually be understood. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in phrases such as “the theatres and cinemas are play,” “some people says,” and “the theatres also gives.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic, as in “in the theator we can actually understand the feeling of the actor their emotion.” These errors recur and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with one clear main clause and correctly formed supporting clauses.
