Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, it is very easy to watch movies and other entertainment activities through internet. However, some people argue that due to the online access, thertres and cinemas are not given importance while others argue that people should often go to cinemas as it provides empolyment opportunities for the individuals and also preserved our traditional and culture. I think people should often go to cinemas to maintain the legeacy.
On the one hand, as the world is moving towards the digital platforms. The technology has made our life simple and convient. The platforms like Netflix, Prime video etc provide plenty of movies and dramas. Due to which people are not interested in going to the theatres as they can sit comfortably in their home and can watch movies with friends. In addition, theatres are not for making noise while through online they can discuss about the movie part with their friends. Futhermore, they can leave the movie in half if they find uninteresting. In addition, cinemas are more expensive as well.
On the other hand, people should give importance to the cinemas as well
as they are our history. It also provides job to many people so if we dont watch movies in cinemas then they can loose their job as well. They should also maintain the theatres and give discount to student and old age people which can motivated them to watch movies in cinemas. If the cinemas are shut down then it will hamper our country ecomonically as well. Threaters should advertised the upcoming movies and also should provide snacks in affortable price.
In conclusion, as people are attracted towards the online sources. People should also watch movies in thertres and cinema maintaing our culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for cinemas, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. Relevant points include online convenience and lower cost, alongside cinema employment and economic effects. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the cultural importance of theatres is asserted as “they are our history” and “maintain our culture” without explaining what cultural value is preserved. The economic point also needs support, such as how cinemas create jobs or benefit nearby businesses. Your opinion is present, but “maintain the legacy” is not explained, and the conclusion mostly repeats the position rather than drawing the discussion together. Develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, and the main ideas are generally grouped by viewpoint. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the point about making noise online appears abruptly, and the suggestions about discounts, advertising, and snacks shift from the importance of cinemas to ways of improving them without a clear link. Repeated use of “In addition” and “also” makes connections mechanical, while some references, such as “they” in the cinema paragraph, are not always precise. Use clearer topic sentences and explain how each supporting point connects to the paragraph’s main claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital platforms,” “employment opportunities,” “economically,” and “upcoming movies.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “thertres,” “empolyment,” “legeacy,” “conveint,” and “affortable.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “entertainment activities through internet,” “preserved our traditional and culture,” and “leave the movie in half.” These choices can make the reader pause, even though the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Build a more accurate set of collocations for this topic and check spelling carefully; prefer precise expressions such as “stream films online” and “cultural heritage.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “as they can sit comfortably in their home” and a conditional sentence beginning “If the cinemas are shut down.” However, the range is limited, and attempts at longer structures often contain errors. For example, “as the world is moving towards the digital platforms” is a sentence fragment, while “The platforms … provide … Due to which people…” incorrectly separates the dependent clause. There are also recurring problems with agreement and verb forms, as in “it provides job,” “they can loose their job,” and “which can motivated them.” Articles, plurals, and punctuation also need attention. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
