Student answer (Band 6.0)

Thanks to technologay that has entirly transformed people's lives. A claim that in this modren era of AI, cinemas and theatres are not imperitive since individuals give prefrence to the online platforms, however some say that both cinema and theater still play an pivotal role in the economy and culture. I will discuss both arguments and suggest my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.

On one hand, there plethora of reasons behind the phenomena of using internet for the purpose of entertainment, perhaps the most obvious is, it is a more convienient way to watch movies and shows online. To elaborate further, everyone has mobile phones in hand. People can easily watch or read whenever and whereever they want as they have hectic schedules. Moreover, it is inexpensive. In this way, they do not save their time, but also save money. For example, when a businessman travels far in order to attend a business meeting, he can easily watch any movie while on his way.

On the other hand, Although in the digital age masses rely on technology, cinemas and theaters still has an importance both economicaly and culturally. They provide a chance to people to share a mutual experience. Moving ahead, there is a huge diffrence watching a movie alone and going to cinema with group of people,In addition to it, these present movies in which characters play role to celebrate their festivals and customs. Apat from this , these provides more oppertunities of employment. As a result, these are an immence source of information for upcoming generations in order to keep them connected.

In conclusion, there is nodoubt that in this digital era people prefer to entertain themselves with online platforms, however, cinemas and theaters are continue to contribute towards raising money and culrure.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear overall view: online entertainment is preferred, but cinemas and theatres continue to contribute economically and culturally. The convenience and lower cost of online viewing are relevant reasons, and the example of a businessman watching a film while travelling helps illustrate accessibility. You also identify shared viewing, cultural representation and employment as benefits of venues. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the link between films and preserving customs, and their value as “a source of information for upcoming generations,” need clearer development or a specific example. Explain more fully how these benefits support your position and distinguish the economic and cultural arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from online convenience and cost to the social, cultural and employment roles of venues is easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion,” which helps readers navigate the discussion. This organisation is effective, though some linking is mechanical, and the second body paragraph moves quickly between several points without showing how they connect. For example, the shift from shared viewing to cultural customs and then employment would be clearer with more explicit explanation. Improve cohesion by linking each supporting point to the paragraph’s main claim and using pronouns with clear references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “convenient,” “mutual experience,” “employment,” and “customs,” and the main ideas remain understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “play a pivotal role.” However, spelling errors are frequent and noticeable, including “technologay,” “entirly,” “modren,” and “oppertunities.” Some word choices and collocations are also inaccurate or awkward: “save their time” would be more naturally expressed as “save time,” while “raising money and culture” does not clearly convey the intended contribution. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships for this topic, such as “make a cultural contribution” and “generate employment.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “although” and a reason clause beginning “since.” Most of the argument can be followed, but grammatical control is uneven, particularly in agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. For example, “cinemas and theaters still has an importance” should use a plural verb and a more natural article pattern; “there plethora of reasons” is missing a verb and article. The opening sentence is also a fragment, and punctuation is inconsistent, as in “group of people,In addition to it.” Work on complete sentence formation, subject–verb agreement, and accurate punctuation, then proofread longer sentences to ensure clauses are joined correctly.
