Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people beleive that theatres and cinemas are lose their importance in the modren digital era as mostly people preferred to watch movie online. In contrast, some debate that theatres and cinemas are still valuable for both economically and culturally. In this essay i will discuss both view and give my own opinion in the last.
Firstly, in the age of technology the habbits of peoples are changed day by day, they Give priority to more personal space and they enjoy their "ME" time lonely for their mental health. they beleived that theatres and cinemas are waste of both time and money and they have lot of options to watch anything on internet. Such as a lot of my friends are introvert they are not Give priority to gethering or meetups whenever if they want to watch a movie they prefer to watch a movie in home.
Secondly, theatres and cinemas have still value in people memories. A large number of people are always willing to watch a movie in theatres and cinemas because they belived that watching a moive with friends and family is more valuable as compared to watch a movie online in home. Moreover, cinemas are still play an important role in both economically and culturally. Theatres is a place where people are came just to watch a movie but they go back home with a lot of cute and sweet memories with friends and family.
Conclusion, In my opinion both views have their own reasons sometimes some people prefer to watch a moive online in their home and some want to go in cinemas just to spend some quality time with their friends and family.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a personal position, especially in the conclusion, where you say that some people prefer online viewing while others value going to cinemas with family and friends. The examples about your introverted friends and shared cinema memories are relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the online-viewing paragraph focuses on personal space and convenience, while the claim that cinemas matter economically and culturally is stated but not explained with concrete reasons or examples. Your opinion is also not clearly established until the conclusion, despite the introduction promising it. Develop each side with specific support—for example, how online platforms affect access or how cinemas create jobs and shared cultural experiences—and state your position clearly from the beginning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes the overall arrangement easy to follow, and the contrast between online viewing and cinema-going is clear. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical or unclear. The first body paragraph moves from changing habits to mental health and then to friends’ preferences without fully connecting these points. In the second, the economic and cultural claim is introduced but the explanation mainly returns to family memories. Some linking phrases, such as “Moreover,” do not lead to a distinct supporting idea. Use clearer topic sentences and make each example directly explain the claim it follows; also avoid repeating the same contrast in the conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a limited but relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “digital era,” “personal space,” “mental health,” and “quality time.” These phrases help communicate the main ideas, and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise: “watch a movie” and “friends and family” recur frequently, while “cute and sweet memories” is informal and does not clearly express the cultural or economic value of cinemas. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “beleive,” “modren,” “habbits,” and “moive,” which reduce accuracy. Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully; choose expressions that explain the argument rather than relying on general or conversational wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast in “Some people believe … In contrast …” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and punctuation sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “theatres and cinemas are lose their importance” combines incompatible verb forms, while “they Give priority” has an unnecessary capital and “cinemas are still play” uses an incorrect verb pattern. The sentence beginning “Theatres is a place where people are came” also contains agreement and verb-form problems. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and use one main clause at a time before adding subordinate clauses. Proofread for capitalisation and sentence boundaries as well as grammar.
