Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era , There is a competition between the things that are available outside as well as in mobile . Talking about this mostly refers to movies and Tv shows that are also can be displayed on a mobile phone or tablet and can also be seen through going out to cinemas and theaters

Most people have different view like there are several people who thinks that if we can watch all the movies and tv shows online on the phone why should we go for the cinema? . Beside that there is also peoples who think that we should still go for the cinema because it is better for culture and economy of the country

At first , there are people who thinks that we should not go for the cinemas because we can watch all the entertainment online on the mobile phone for example there is a movie called aveneger that is also on the netflix and if we want to go and watch offline it is also available the only difference came is that of time , in cinemas the movie is displayed on the release date and in netflix the movie comes after some time

On the other hand , there is people who thinks that we should go for the cinemas and theaters rather than watching it at home because of the cultural activities and the growth of the economy of country e.g people usally thinks that going out for the cinemas and theaters can be more enjoyable as watching it at home alone .As we go for the cinemas and theater there are many types of people coming of different culture from where we can learn about the different culture and more . Moreover, people also thinks that it is better for our economy it is that of because when we go for the offline there is some sorf of ticket to enter the hall and we buy those tickets added with gst that goes fully to goverment.

In my opinion , we should do both because i think that there are many types of show that can be watched with family or friends but mostly time they are busy in doing some personal stuff . So., it like once in a blue moon that i go with my family and friends and it is more enjoyable than watching alone . . So, giving my own review on this , Mostly times i have to watch alone and when there is an opportunity to go i will definitely go with friends and family .

In conclusion to everything, both the people who thinks to watch online rather then going outside are right and the people who thinks that we should go for the cinemas are right .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both perspectives and give a personal view, so the response addresses the main parts of the prompt. The online-view paragraph explains convenience and release timing, while the opposing paragraph mentions shared enjoyment, cultural exchange and ticket revenue. However, these points are only partly developed: the Netflix example does not clearly show why online viewing makes cinemas less important, and the claim that ticket taxes go “fully to government” needs clarification or support. Your opinion that people should do both is present, but it shifts toward a personal account of watching alone rather than explaining a broader judgement. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and finish with a more decisive, task-focused conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a personal-opinion paragraph and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and linking phrases are repetitive or awkward, including repeated uses of “there are people who thinks” and “Moreover.” The final paragraph largely repeats that both sides are right without synthesising the discussion or restating your own position clearly. Some references, such as “it” in “it is that of because,” are unclear. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, connect examples directly to that point, and make the conclusion draw the argument together.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general discussion, including “entertainment,” “cultural activities,” “economy,” and “release date.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “people,” “go for the cinemas,” and “watch.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “displayed on a mobile phone,” “offline” for attending a cinema, and “added with gst.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “aveneger,” “usally,” and “sorf,” also reduce precision. Build a more varied set of expressions for viewing, cultural value and economic impact, and check spelling and collocations. More precise vocabulary would make your ideas easier to understand and sound more appropriate for an academic discussion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when,” but control is inconsistent. Agreement errors occur repeatedly: “people who thinks” and “there is people” should use plural forms. Other problems include “that are also can be displayed,” “the only difference came,” and “it is more enjoyable than watching alone,” where sentence construction or verb forms are faulty. Articles and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “for the cinemas” and the frequent spaces before commas and full stops. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences from a clear main clause, checking each sentence for verb form and punctuation.
