Student answer (Band 4.5)

In the digital era, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people mostly watch the entertainment online. Other argue that theatres and cinemas are still important for our culture and economy.

Firstly, as today our world is now global village. In the present advanced era, every one is having anroid in their hand and have access to all type of entertainment from different browser like youtube, netflix etc. So, the importance of theatres and cinema industry is decresing day by day. One more factor that support this scenario is the busy life routine. People don't have time to go specially at threatre and get amuse with the entertainment. They can have their entertainment even in their bed without going to any where.

Second argument regarding the importance of threatres and cinema industry is also significant as it support our economy and also preserve our tradition and cultural values. Some people of 90s still have enthusiam for threatres and cinemas, they visit these places regularly and have their entertainment.

In my perspective, people can have entertainment at their home by browsing various sites. I strongly support the first opinion regarding entertaintment. For instance, now-a-days people have much busy life they can't afford to spare their time for cinema and threatres. All type of entertainment is available on social media and is readily available at any time. Beside this, another major factor that we have entertainment at our home according to our mood and choice which is not available at threatres or cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You present a clear preference for online entertainment, especially in the final paragraph, and you mention both views: convenience and access online, and the cultural and economic value of theatres. However, the discussion of the second view is very brief: saying theatres “support our economy” and “preserve our tradition and cultural values” is not explained or illustrated. The first view is also repeated rather than developed with specific evidence. The response is 235 words, so it is 15 words below the required minimum; the 17 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, explain each side with a concrete example and develop your opinion beyond repeating that people are busy and can watch at home.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Second argument,” and “For instance” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph repeats points already made about busy lives and home viewing, while the paragraph on theatres ends without developing its claims. Some links are awkward or unclear, such as “as today our world is now global village” and “Beside this, another major factor that we have entertainment at our home.” Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting example directly to the claim it supports, rather than relying mainly on basic signposting.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital era,” “entertainment,” “economy,” “tradition,” and “cultural values,” so the reader can follow the main subject. There are also attempts to express ideas such as convenience and access. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “get amuse,” “busy life routine,” and “all type of entertainment.” Spelling errors such as “anroid,” “decresing,” “threatres,” and “entertaintment” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases and check spelling carefully; varying repeated references to entertainment and cinemas would also make the argument clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, grammatical errors occur frequently, and control of sentence structure is inconsistent. For example, “Other argue” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “every one is having … and have access” shifts between verb forms and does not maintain agreement. The opening of the first body paragraph, “Firstly, as today our world is now global village,” is not a complete, well-formed sentence. Articles and plurals are also often missing or inconsistent, as in “at their bed” and “all type.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and verb forms.
