Student answer (Band 5.0)

on one hand, some peoples are in favour of watching entertainment online instead of going to theathres and cinemas due to increasing dependancy on digital media. They like to watch movies inside their home, lying on their sofa or bed with comfortable dressing. They prefer online entertainment besause they can eat what they want, when they can sit in whatever style they want without any restriction. However, in cinemina and theatres we are bond to sit on the one chair in one posture and we can not bring any food item with us, and the food that is sell inside the cinema and theatres is of double price then its normal price, which is very costly for people who have big family. Moreover, we have to do proper dressing when we have to go out to watxh a movie in the theatre.Thats another reason people now avoid to go to these places they prefer watching online which is cost effective and more comfortabe. On the other hand Some people somehow believe that cinema and theatre have some value remain both economically and culturally,One perpspective of this beleive is that they think that people from different cultures who are working together in same workplace or freinds in schools, colleges or universites when go to these places, sit together spend time to gether, talk with each other, learning about each other culture, making their bonding strong. Other perpspective is that in this way more people will be attracted by these places and more tickets will be sold and country will generate more revenue.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views by explaining the convenience and lower cost of online viewing, then describing social and economic reasons to retain cinemas and theatres. These are relevant points, but the discussion is only partial: the cultural argument is mainly that people from different backgrounds can spend time together and learn about one another, while the economic point is limited to ticket sales and national revenue. Neither is developed with a specific example or much explanation. Your own opinion is also not clearly stated; the response presents both sides but does not say which view you support or how you weigh them. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each main point and conclude with a direct, supported position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable two-sided structure, signalled by “on one hand” and “On the other hand,” and the ideas within each side are generally related. However, progression is limited: the first section lists several similar conveniences, while the second moves quickly between cultural bonding and revenue without a clear explanation linking them. There is no concluding paragraph to bring the discussion together or state your view. Some linking is also mechanical, and long stretches of text make the relationships between points harder to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and a conclusion, and organise each body paragraph around one main idea supported by explanation or an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital media,” “online entertainment,” “different cultures,” and “generate more revenue.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the writing less clear or natural, such as “comfortable dressing,” “food that is sell,” and “some value remain.” Spelling errors, including “theathres,” “dependancy,” and “beleive,” are also noticeable and can slow the reader. Aim to learn accurate phrases as complete units and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for the economic and cultural arguments would also help you explain the topic with greater clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example when explaining the restrictions of cinema-going and the benefits of watching at home. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex attempts often contain errors that make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “when they can sit in whatever style they want,” “we are bond to sit,” and “more people will be attracted by these places and more tickets will be sold.” There are also recurring problems with sentence boundaries, capitalisation, articles, and subject–verb agreement. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb before adding further detail.
