Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear, if briefly stated, personal view: cinemas remain valuable for social gatherings, while streaming is preferable for everyday viewing. The points about subscription costs, convenience and employment around cinemas are relevant. However, the two views are not developed equally. The case for online entertainment receives several examples, whereas the cultural importance of theatres and cinemas is only touched on through social gatherings and live plays. The economic point also needs explanation of how venues support local businesses or employment. To strengthen the response, develop the cultural argument with a specific example and explain why the shared, live experience cannot be fully replicated at home; then make your conclusion more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the discussion. However, the first body paragraph contains many points in a long sequence, so the relationships between cost, flexibility, home equipment and avoiding social contact are not always clear. Some linking is mechanical, with repeated additions such as “Moreover,” “Also,” and “Furthermore.” The final paragraph introduces a useful distinction between occasional cinema visits and daily streaming, but it could connect more explicitly to the arguments above. Group related ideas, use clearer referencing, and vary transitions to make progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “online streaming,” “subscription,” “local tourism,” “social gatherings,” and “economically and culturally.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both practical and wider effects. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make phrases difficult to interpret, for example “multilinguaism,” “videography,” “ultimate gives the feel,” and “long term watch.” Several collocations are also unnatural, such as “boost economy” and “movie cost of the family members.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. For instance, use “multilingual options,” “films,” “ultimately creates a cinema-like experience,” and “support the local economy.” This would make your ideas clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “while,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, some errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction reduce accuracy. For example, “advancements in technology has” should use a plural verb, and “the subscription allow” needs a singular verb. The sentence beginning “Furthermore, it helps an introvert person…” has an unclear structure, while “it boost economy” also lacks correct agreement and article use. Punctuation and spacing around sentence boundaries need attention as well. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, and use shorter, controlled sentences when expressing several connected ideas.
