Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary digital world, some people contend that theatres and cinemas have no longer need because people can take advantage of them through online entertainment platforms. While others claim that they are also significantly important as they contribute generously in the country's economic growth and preserve cultural's roots. This essay will discuss both views before explaining why I support later approach.
On the one hand, as the technology has tremendously transformed the way people are entertained now, because it has introduced enormous platforms through which individuals can easily entertained at home without leaving the comfort zone of homes. To illustrate, different social media forums such as Whatsapp, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, and Facebook provide different entertainment options instantly according to the requirements of one's mind. As a result, individuals loose realistic enthusiasm and excitment that they can experience at theatres and cinemas.
On the other hand, the supporters of theatres and cinemas believe that they play a crucial role in country's economy and culture. For instance, the beautiful artistic designs of the buildings of theatres and cinemas and traditional contents attract a large number of tourists from domestic and international level. Of course, when tourism is increased significantly, it generates income for locals and brings revenue for country's resources. At the same time, a country's cultural traditions are menifested through films, and movies, to the rest of the world.
In conclusion, athough, undoubtedly, social media provides different entertainment options immediately, I believe, the later approach is more practical because it not only give rise to country's economic but also preserve the cultural heritage and people can experience the realistic energy and excitment while visiting.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and make your position clear: you support the continuing importance of theatres and cinemas. The discussion of online entertainment is relevant, and the second body paragraph gives reasons linked to tourism, income and cultural representation. However, the first view is developed mainly through a list of social media platforms, rather than explaining in depth why online access might make cinemas less necessary. The economic argument also needs a clearer link between theatres’ activities and national growth; the focus on attractive buildings and tourism is somewhat narrow. To strengthen the response, explain each side’s central claim more fully and add a specific example showing how cinemas or theatres support jobs, local businesses or cultural exchange.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify your position. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some of the stronger control associated with a higher level. However, connections within sentences are occasionally awkward: the opening of the first body paragraph uses “as” and “because” together, while “Of course” does not clearly show the relationship between tourism and revenue. The conclusion also repeats several points rather than synthesising them. Use linking expressions more selectively and make the cause-and-effect links explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “online entertainment platforms,” “economic growth,” “tourists” and “cultural traditions.” There are also attempts at less common or formal expressions, such as “preserve cultural roots” and “manifested,” although some choices are inaccurate or unnatural. Examples include “contribute generously in the country’s economic growth,” “realistic enthusiasm,” and “the later approach”; these make parts of the argument less precise. Spelling errors such as “loose,” “excitment,” “menifested” and “athough” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for employment, ticket revenue and cultural heritage would help you express the ideas with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While others claim…” and a reason clause with “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and several sentence structures are faulty. For example, “have no longer need” is not a correct verb construction, and “individuals can easily entertained” is missing a verb form. The first body paragraph begins with “as” and then adds “because,” creating an incomplete, awkward structure. There are also agreement and article problems in “it not only give rise” and “in country’s economy.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the main meaning remains understandable. Practise building complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms, especially in longer sentences.
