Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, everything become digital even the work like washing clothes and prepare food etc can be done by artificial humans. But, it is debated among the people that some people believe that theatres are no longer important and on the other side, some people argue that cinemas are still crucial.

On the one hand, humanity becomes so advance that everything can be done in just few trials or in just few minutes, technology advancements are proved by humans. Nowadays, we do not need to go in theatres or cinemas to watch movie, we can watch any movie and any drama for free at home with the help of mobile phone. People can watch all the entertainment at home. It has some benefits like it saves money, we don't get bored by staying at home for long, even the flights can be booked on the mobile phone. The use of mobile phone escalated than past.

On the other hand, some people say that theatres and cinemas are still crucial both economically and culturally. I do not agree with this statement beacuse of some reasons. First of all, watching a movie in theatre requires money as we can watch it for free, second of all, it wastes time because we cannot forward or reverse the movie or we cannot watch the favourite part of movie again. Because I'm the person who always forward or rewiind the video, that's why I disagree with that.

Precisely, don't waste money to watch movie on big screen. In my perception, I agree with frist statement because it stands for all my needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear preference for the view that online entertainment meets your needs, and you give relevant reasons such as saving money and being able to replay favourite scenes. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, including the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas. That side is only introduced, then rejected using personal convenience; its economic and cultural arguments are not explained. The first view is also supported mainly by general claims about watching films at home, rather than developed examples or reasoning. To strengthen the response, explain why cinemas may support jobs and local businesses, and how shared viewing or live performance contributes to culture, before giving a more fully supported opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers recognise the two positions. The overall progression is nevertheless limited: the second body paragraph introduces the opposing view but quickly shifts to reasons for rejecting it, while the final paragraph repeats the opinion without adding a conclusion to the discussion. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including “Precisely” at the start of the final paragraph and the connection between booking flights and the benefits of watching entertainment at home. Organise each body paragraph around one view, connect each reason directly to the task, and use the conclusion to summarise both sides and your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “theatres,” “cinemas,” “entertainment,” and “big screen,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the response difficult to interpret. For example, “artificial humans” does not clearly express the intended idea, and “humanity becomes so advance” is an awkward way to describe technological progress. There are also spelling errors such as “beacuse,” “rewiiind,” and “frist.” Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; using terms such as “streaming services,” “box-office revenue,” and “shared cultural experience” would help you discuss the topic more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the main point is usually understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “everything become digital” needs a correctly formed verb, while “humanity becomes so advance” has problems with both the verb form and the structure after “so.” The sentence beginning “Nowadays, we do not need to go in theatres or cinemas to watch movie, we can watch…” joins two independent clauses with only a comma. Practise accurate present-tense forms and articles, and separate or correctly link complete clauses. More reliable control of these patterns would make your reasoning easier to follow.
