Student answer (Band 5.5)
In technology era , some people believe that cinemas and theatres has lost their importance because all the entertainment can be found on mobile phones . I am in favor with this though as it same money and time . Other argue that cinemas and theatres are significant for financial and cultural development .
On one hand, due to the advancement of technology some individuals prefer to watch their movies and dramas without going to the cinemas and theatres . It is because people nowadays has become very lazy .They do not want to lose their comfort of home so they tends to watch all the entertainment whether it is a drama , movie or a comedy show on their phones at just a touch .In this way they also save a lot of money and time in buying a ticket .For example , an online app such as Netflix contains all the worldwide movies , dramas and web series as people can get access to this by just one click without spending money on individual movies as in cinemas . I agree with this because individual can get everything without spending a penny .
On the other hand , other believe that cinemas and theatres are an important factor of our culture and financial stability because theatres and cinemas are a source of income for many individual and their life depends on working of these places . If these places are shut down ,they no longer be able to support their economically . Also theatres are the part of our culture .They have been present in our life for centuries . For example ,if cinemas are demolished there would be huge problem for jobs of individuals working at that place . I disagree with it because I think cinemas are waste of money as we can see our liked content without paying money for tickets and those who lose their job will find a better one at a much better place
In conclusion , although some people say that digital advancements are getting dominant so we no longer need cinemas and theatres . I agree as by steaming everything online we can save our valuable time and money . I disagree with people who believe that cinemas and theatres are important foe our economics and culture because they do not contribute much to our economics and to our culture

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state your preference for online entertainment in the introduction and conclusion. The discussion of online access includes relevant reasons—convenience, and saving time and money—and the Netflix example helps illustrate this side. However, the opposing view is only partly developed: you mention employment and cultural history, but do not explain in much detail how cinemas and theatres contribute economically or preserve culture. Your position also becomes difficult to follow when you first say you agree that online viewing is preferable, then write “I disagree with it” after presenting the case for venues, without clearly distinguishing which claim you reject. Develop each side with a specific explanation and make your own position consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and the contrast paragraph ends with a sudden shift from describing the venues’ importance to dismissing their value. The conclusion repeats the main points but does not resolve that contradiction. Some linking is also mechanical or imprecise, and long sentences joined by several ideas make relationships harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its claim, and ensure pronouns and transitions make the argument’s direction unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “advancement of technology,” “financial stability,” “source of income,” and “cultural.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “I am in favor with this” and “they do not contribute much to our economics” are not natural expressions in this context; “streaming” is also misspelled as “steaming.” Repetition of “cinemas and theatres,” “money,” and “important” further limits flexibility. Build a more precise range for discussing access, employment, and cultural value, and check collocations and spelling when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors are frequent, and attempts at longer structures are often faulty. Examples include “cinemas and theatres has lost,” “people nowadays has become,” and “they tends,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. Other problems include “they no longer be able” and “support their economically,” which show missing or incorrect grammatical forms. Articles, plurals, and punctuation are also inconsistent, with spaces before punctuation and run-on sentences. Practise accurate agreement and complete verb patterns first, then divide longer sentences into clearer units while retaining some correctly controlled complex structures.
