Student answer (Band 5.0)
It often argued that most of the people think in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are not essential because people can watch the entertainment they want though online platforms, whereas other individuals believe that theatres and cinemas are still vital for both economic and culture. From my perspective, i believe movie theatres and cinema are unneccessary ,because nowadays many online platforms provides latest movies and series, which costs less then a ticket price. Furthermore there is no waste of fuel and energy. Additionally, citizens can watch their favorite film in their comfort zone.
On the one hand, theatres and cinemas are not important. Spending more money on these entertainment puts individuals in a financial pressure, while people can watch the same in their home at the low cost. For instance, watching movie in online platforms costs less amount with that subcription we can watch more than one film. Another advantage, it reduce travel expences and the efforts of getting ready, which consumes more time. As a result, public assume it is not that much vital.
On the other hand, offline experience in theatre as well as cinema gives an quality experience. Althrough it is expensive, goverment can get taxs from them.
Theatre gives excellent sound quality and massive screen compared to online. Althrough cinema is expensive, it contributes to economic growth, because gorvernment get a certain amount of tax and it has been followed for more years. Therefore, it has economic and cultural benefits.
In conclusion, It really depends on the individuals. Threatre provides remarkable experience, meanwhile, online platforms saves money and time. In my opinion, i personally choose online entertainment over offiline.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for online entertainment, so the response is relevant to the task. The online-view argument includes reasons about cost, travel and convenience, while the opposing view mentions cinema’s sound and screen quality and its contribution to tax revenue. However, the cultural importance of theatres and cinemas is only asserted, not explained, and the economic point is brief and repeated rather than developed with a specific example. The conclusion says the choice depends on individuals, which slightly weakens the otherwise clear preference for online viewing. To strengthen the response, explain more fully how cinemas support culture and local economies, and make your position consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion. Paragraphing therefore helps the reader identify the main stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: the first body paragraph repeats the ideas of lower cost and convenience, and the second repeats the claim that cinemas are expensive and generate tax. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” are useful, but some connections are mechanical or unclear, including “Another advantage” without a fully formed link to the previous point. The conclusion also shifts to “It really depends” after a firm preference. Group each paragraph around distinct reasons and use clearer references and transitions to show how each point supports the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “economic growth,” “sound quality,” and “massive screen,” which makes the subject clear. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “financial pressure,” “comfort zone,” “low cost,” and “offline experience.” Repetition of “expensive,” “online platforms,” and “important” also restricts precision. Spelling errors such as “unneccessary,” “subcription,” “expences,” and “gorvernment” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Aim to use more precise collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, describe affordability, convenience, and the shared cultural experience rather than relying on broad claims. Proofreading spelling will also make your ideas easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast with “whereas” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, the range is limited, and complex constructions are often inaccurate. Examples include “It often argued” (missing an auxiliary), “many online platforms provides” (subject–verb agreement), and “it reduce travel” (agreement). Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “gives an quality experience” and the comma splice in “It really depends on the individuals. Threatre provides…” (the latter also contains a spelling error, which belongs under vocabulary). Capitalisation is inconsistent, including “i” and “In” after a comma. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and punctuation, then build longer sentences only when you can control their structure.
