Student answer (Band 6.0)

Entertainment idustry is a very important part of a society. Many individuals argue that in this modern era, people can entertain them by watching movies or dramas online. As a result, theaters and cinemas lost their value. While others believe that, theaters and cinemas are vital for economic and cultural enhancement. This essay will discuss both perspective before giving a ballanced opinion.

On one hand, Online entertainment is more popular because they are easy to access. Movie lovers do not need to go to cinema halls or buy tickets by standing in a line now a days. Everyone can enjoy movies and dramas in online platform. For example, youtube produce us free content and other platforms such as, netflix or amazon prime provides us exclusive content with a little amount of money compared to cinema tickets.

On the other hand, some people think that cinema and theaters have significant value because they contribute in both economic and cultural sector. Though people are less interested in going in cinemas because of many challanges like collecting tickets by standing in queue, crowd, bad environment of halls, the cinema hall are still running. It is a part of our tradition to go to the theaters for enjoying movies with friends and familiies. It is a place where the different stories of society and history of nations are shown, which helps us to increase our cultural knowledge. Also the actors and actress earns a lot of money by acting and same goes for the producers and directors. That means, it is also a sector which helps a country finacially by doing business with cinemas.

In conclusion, I believe that, though it is easy to be entertained online, people should go cinema halls to contribute to their country both financially and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear final view: online entertainment is convenient, but people should still attend cinemas to support cultural and financial contributions. The examples of free YouTube content and paid streaming services help explain the online perspective, while the discussion of shared outings, cultural stories, and employment covers several reasons cinemas remain relevant. However, the economic argument is asserted more than explained, and the claim that cinemas are part of “our tradition” may not apply broadly without a specific example. Develop these points further—for instance, explain how cinema revenue supports local jobs or film production—and make your position clearer before the conclusion as well as in it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On one hand” and “On the other hand” make the contrast easy to follow, and the ideas within each paragraph generally progress from convenience to examples, then from cultural value to economic impact. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, the opening paragraph promises a “balanced opinion” without stating the position, and the final paragraph introduces the recommendation rather abruptly. Some links are also mechanical, while “That means” does not clearly connect the preceding claims to the country-level economic point. Use clearer references and transitions to show how each example supports the main argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic vocabulary to discuss the issue, including “exclusive content,” “cultural knowledge,” “producers,” and “directors.” These choices show an attempt to go beyond basic language, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “idustry,” “ballanced,” “challanges,” and “finacially” should be corrected, while “entertain them” and “in online platform” are unnatural expressions. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “cinema” and “people,” and “bad environment of halls” is vague. Build a more accurate range of collocations, such as “entertain themselves,” “streaming platforms,” and “the atmosphere in cinemas,” and proofread spelling carefully. This would make the vocabulary more controlled and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including the concession “Though people are less interested…” and the relative clause “where the different stories… are shown.” These help you express contrast and explain ideas, and the overall message remains clear. Some grammatical errors persist, however. In “theaters and cinemas lost their value,” the tense should be “have lost”; “the cinema hall are still running” has a subject–verb agreement error; and “the actors and actress earns” needs plural agreement and a plural noun. There are also article and preposition problems, as in “go in cinemas” and “go cinema halls.” Review agreement, articles, and preposition patterns, and check comma placement around introductory phrases. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen the response.
