Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely held that in the technological era, theatres and cinemas are not very important because people can watch everything online on electronic devices. However, some individuals focus on the fact that theaters and cinemas are essential for the culture and the economy of a country.
Firstly, nowadays a vast array of online platforms are available where audiences can watch any type of movie that matches their interest. This is because we live in the technological innovation, where digital entertainment is easily accessible. To elaborate, modern technological advancements allow consumers to access high-quality content anytime and any where without leaving their homes. Therefore it is clear that modern-day digital innovation makes the world a global village, people can access to anything by using the internet and buy everything with the help of digital equipment.
On the other hand, traditional comedy theatres and entertainment venues play a crucial role in promoting the local culture and boosting the national economy. This is largely because when we want to promote traditional culture we do a lot of activities like playing traditional dramas in the theaters and in the cinema hall. A clear illustration of this is that when we held numerous plays and we collect huge amount of money when people buy tickets of these festivals. Therefor, it becomes evident that this sum will be very beneficial for the economy of the country. In my point of view, I completely agree with latter point of view because I think culture and economy are the two main aspects of a country.
In conclusion, although in the era of digital innovation things can sell like a hot cake, I maintain that we can watch what we want with the help of technological innovation. Therefore, everyone know that culture and tradition are the identity of a country and economy is also important when we want to make our country developed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for the cultural and economic importance of theatres and cinemas, especially in “I completely agree with latter point of view.” The discussion of online access is relevant, and the second body paragraph gives examples involving traditional dramas and ticket sales. However, the ideas remain broad and are not fully explained: the online paragraph focuses mainly on convenience rather than why this makes venues less important, while the economic example does not show how venues contribute beyond ticket revenue. Your conclusion also shifts toward saying people can watch what they want online, which makes your final position less consistent. Develop each side with a specific example and keep your opinion clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “Firstly” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in perspective, and the main ideas are generally grouped by topic. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear because several claims are linked without showing their precise relationship. For example, the move from online access to “the world a global village” and buying everything online does not clearly advance the argument about cinemas. The conclusion also repeats ideas but introduces a position that conflicts with the stated preference. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its claim, and make the final paragraph summarise the same position established in the body.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “digital entertainment,” “technological advancements,” “local culture,” and “national economy.” These choices make the subject clear, and phrases such as “play a crucial role” show an attempt to use more developed language. However, some wording is imprecise or repetitive, particularly repeated references to “technological innovation,” and several collocations are unnatural, such as “we live in the technological innovation” and “buy tickets of these festivals.” There are also spelling and form errors, including “Therefor” and “any where.” Aim for more precise terms for venues and their economic effects, and check common word partnerships and spelling so that your vocabulary communicates ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using clauses introduced by “because,” “where,” and “when.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately. For example, “This is because we live in the technological innovation, where…” has an unclear clause structure, while “modern-day digital innovation makes the world a global village, people can access…” joins two independent clauses incorrectly. Other errors include “people can access to anything,” “when we held numerous plays,” and “everyone know,” involving prepositions, tense, and subject–verb agreement. Practise building complex sentences around one clear main clause, and check agreement, tense consistency, articles, and punctuation when editing.
