Student answer (Band 5.5)

The importance of entertainment is a debatable topic and becoming a controversial among the people. Therefore, a section of society is in the favour of cinemas and theaters to relaxation while others are against this concept. However, in this essay, I will discuss both views along with my own opinion here under in detail.

commencing with the factors why cinemas are no longer important. First and foremost is that advancement in tecnology. To expain it, there are abundance of websites are avialable on the internet where people can watch different kind of programs according to their choice as in theaters they have only one particular option to entertain also they can listen music and watch reality shows. Not only this but also it is assistful for the older and disabled people because they do not have capasity to go anywhere for relaxation, thus, they can enjoy their day in their comfort zone.

Moving towards the benefits of theaters, Firstlly, cinemas give an opportunity to the individuals to get an unique experience because they cat watch shows on a big secreen and clear audio. Along with this individuals can be socilised at public places as they can meet various masses by which they can imrove or enhance their communication skills as well as it may help to boost the knowledge abot cultural background.

In conclusion, it is clear from the above-mentined discussion that indeed, both aspects are appropriate in their own way bu according to me cinemas and theaters are no longer necessary.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state your view in the conclusion: online entertainment is convenient, while cinemas offer a distinctive shared experience. The points about access for older and disabled people and about socialising are relevant. However, the discussion is uneven and only partly developed. The online-view paragraph gives several examples, but the case for cinemas is brief and does not explain their economic importance, despite this being explicit in the prompt. Cultural value is mentioned through “cultural background” but remains unclear, and your final opinion that cinemas are “no longer necessary” is not fully reconciled with the benefits you have described. Develop each side with a specific explanation or example and make your position consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “First and foremost,” “Moving towards,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the sentence beginning “Not only this but also” moves from online choice to accessibility without clearly showing how the point develops. The opening phrase “commencing with” is also a fragment rather than a complete transition into a sentence. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting point explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim; vary linking expressions and check that each sentence follows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “advancement in technology,” “unique experience,” “communication skills,” and “cultural background,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the writing less natural. Examples include “in the favour of cinemas,” “assistful,” “get an unique experience,” and “various masses.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “tecnology,” “avialable,” and “secreen,” which reduce accuracy. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural phrases rather than translating word by word, and proofread spelling carefully. More precise terms for online access, shared viewing, and cultural or economic contribution would help you express the task’s ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sentence with “because” and one using “as well as,” but control is inconsistent. Several sentences contain errors in clause structure or agreement, such as “there are abundance of websites are available,” where the sentence has two competing verb structures, and “it is assistful,” where the construction is not grammatically formed. Articles and plurals are also unreliable in phrases such as “an unique experience” and “different kind of programs.” Punctuation and capitalisation need attention, particularly after paragraph breaks and around commas. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Practise building accurate basic clauses first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
