Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, theatres and cinemas are very significant for the entertainers. Some indiviuals argue that, in this modern era theatres and cinemas are no longer crucial as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. Others argue that theatres and cinemas are still significant both economically and culturally. From my perspective, online platforms take place on theatres and cinemas.
Although this is a digital age, everyone uses latest technology mobiles and internet. There are several reasons why theatres and cinemas are no longer important for indiviuals. Firstly, people prefer online movies due to there is no need to travel to reach theatres and cinemas. Secondly, it is costly to go cinemas, where people buy tickets, additionally it takes to much time. People watch dramas and movies which they want through online platform. Therefore, it is evident that these points strongly supports my opinion.
While some indiviuals beleived that, theatres and cinemas are still crucial for economy and culture. Numerous people purchase tickets of latest movies from the cinema and watch there, so this process takes to much economy profits. Theatres and cinemas are also a symbol of culture, so hundred of people stting at in one cinema.
To draw the conclusion, social media platform increase day by day, so traditional theatres and cinemas are no longer important for the people. It has greatly impacts on economy and also on culture. People watch any movies on social media platform, so they do not need to travel and to buy any kinds of tickets.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You present a clear preference for online entertainment, and you mention reasons such as avoiding travel and ticket costs. You also refer to the opposing view by noting cinemas’ economic and cultural importance. However, the discussion is only partial: the economic point that ticket purchases generate profits is brief, and the cultural claim that cinemas are a “symbol of culture” is not explained or supported with an example. Your opening phrase, “significant for the entertainers,” also does not clearly introduce the debate. The response contains 236 words, so it is 14 words below the required minimum; 18 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both sides more fully and make your own position precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting online viewing, a paragraph on the continuing value of cinemas, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “To draw the conclusion” help signal this organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some links are unclear or mechanical. For example, “Therefore, it is evident that these points strongly supports my opinion” repeats the preceding reasons rather than advancing the argument. The transition to the opposing view is abrupt, and the final paragraph largely repeats the online-access argument instead of synthesising both views. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and ensure the conclusion reflects the full discussion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “online platform,” “purchase tickets,” “economy,” and “culture,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the same words—especially “important,” “crucial,” and “significant”—are repeated, limiting flexibility. Several choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “take place on theatres and cinemas,” “takes to much economy profits,” and “hundred of people stting at in one cinema.” Spelling errors such as “indiviuals” and “beleived” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Build a wider set of precise expressions for costs, convenience, employment, and cultural experience, and check spelling and natural word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic complex structures, including “Although this is a digital age” and “so they do not need to travel.” However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “people prefer online movies due to there is no need to travel” has an incorrect clause pattern; “these points strongly supports” has subject–verb disagreement; and “it has greatly impacts” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “it is costly to go cinemas” and “hundred of people stting at in one cinema.” Practise forming accurate clauses after “because” or “due to,” checking agreement, and proofreading each sentence for complete, grammatical structure.
