Student answer (Band 5.0)
People have different views about that in the digital world theater and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch anything online. While, others says that the theaters and cinemas are still contribute economically and culturally. This essay will discuss both views before giving my own opinion.
On the one hand, Many people believe that in today era of technology theaters and cinemas are no longer valuable as people can watch all these things online. One reason for this is that everyone has mobile phone with internet and it is now quiet easy to watch movies, comedy shows and dramas online rather than going physically to buy tickets and waiting for long. As a result, that will waste their time and money as well.
On the other hand, Some people argue that theaters and cinemas are still providing a significant role in economy and culture. This is because the theaters and cinemas is also an industry which provides jobs to many artists and other workers and it also knowing as the symbol of culture. For instance, going to the theaters and cinemas with family and friends providing a great memorable time outside. Therefore, it can not be replaced by digital things and can not finished the cultural tendency.
From my perspective, watching movies and dramas online is very time efficient rather than visiting cinemas and theaters physically. For that reason, it is now effortless to watch anything on mobile phone what you need is just having a phone with internet.
In conclusion, the digital era is not longer needed theaters and cinemas to watch movies and dramas it can now quiet easy to watch anything on mobile phones with internet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You introduce the two views and give a personal preference for online viewing, so the response is relevant to the prompt. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the case for online entertainment focuses mainly on convenience and saving time, while the cultural and economic case is asserted rather than explained. The example of spending memorable time with family and friends supports a social benefit, but it does not show clearly how cinemas contribute to the economy or preserve culture. Your position also needs to be clearer and more consistent: the body says online viewing is preferable, but the conclusion mainly repeats that cinemas are no longer needed without weighing both views. Develop each side with specific reasons and examples, then state your judgement directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some linking is mechanical or unclear. For example, “As a result, that will waste their time and money” does not clearly connect the preceding point about buying tickets and waiting, and “Therefore” introduces a conclusion that is not fully established by the example. The opinion paragraph largely repeats the first view instead of advancing the discussion. Make each paragraph develop one central point, and use clearer references and links between claims and supporting details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital world,” “industry,” “provides jobs,” and “cultural tendency.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. For example, “theaters and cinemas are still providing a significant role” does not express the intended idea idiomatically, and “can not finished the cultural tendency” is difficult to interpret. Repeated use of “watch,” “online,” and “theaters and cinemas” also limits variety. Build a more precise set of expressions for convenience, employment, cultural heritage, and shared experiences, and check that verbs and nouns combine naturally. These changes would make your points clearer and more persuasive.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast in “While, others says…” and a reason clause beginning “This is because…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction can make the reader pause. Examples include “others says,” “the theaters and cinemas is,” and “everyone has mobile phone”; the final sentence, “the digital era is not longer needed theaters and cinemas,” is also structurally unclear. Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, as in “While,” and “Many” after a paragraph break. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete clauses first, then add subordinate clauses and contrast structures. Proofread specifically for agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
