Student answer (Band 5.5)
In mordern technology age, some people watch online, all the entertainment they want. So, people argue that now theatres and cinemas have no importance but some people argue that theatres and cinemas still have imprtance in economically and culturally. Both views have their own advantages.
In digital age, we can watch online anything. we have many gadgets such as computer, mobile phone , tablets. Now we also have an internet access. We can watch online entertainment everywhere. For example, my friend visited my home and she forgot her phone . we have to plan watch cartoons. At that moment she realised that she forgot her phone. we were upset . she asked me about my phone. I was surprised why she asked me about my phone then she replied me, Oh come on, do not have to worry. we can watch cartoon by your mobile . Watching online videos can save our money. Monthly subscription of wacting online videos are cheaper than buying theatres nad cinemas ticket.
On the other hand, some people argue that theatres and cinemas have importance. Economically, theatres and cinemas are a major source of revenue and employment. It supports thousands of jobs include director, actors, theatre staff and distributors. The sales of food and beverages contribute significantly to the national economy. Successful films also promotes the tourism and boost related industries. Culturally, theatres and cinemas play a vital role in preserving and collecting art and social values. everyone is able to understand the different cultures.everybody shares their views to eachother. Watching films in theatres and cinemas strengthen socail bonding.
Both views have their own importance .In my opinon, watching movies online is much better then going to theatres and cinemas . It is more convenient and saves time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both perspectives and give a clear personal preference: online viewing is “more convenient and saves time.” The economic points about employment, food sales and tourism, and the cultural points about sharing views and social bonding, are relevant to the prompt. However, the discussion is uneven: the case for online entertainment is mainly about access and cost, while the example about your friend forgetting her phone is lengthy and does not clearly support the broader argument. The cultural claims are also asserted rather than explained, and your conclusion gives little reason for preferring online viewing beyond convenience. Develop each side with a specific explanation or example, and make the comparison behind your opinion clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for online viewing, a paragraph for theatres and cinemas, and a conclusion. “On the other hand” helps signal the shift between views, and the main points are generally understandable. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, especially in the extended anecdote about your friend and the phone, where several short sentences repeat the same event. Connections between ideas are also limited or mechanical; for example, the cultural claims move quickly from preserving art to sharing views and social bonding without showing how they relate. Use clearer topic sentences, group related points, and replace the anecdote’s sequence with a concise example linked directly to your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “source of revenue and employment,” “distributors,” “national economy,” and “social bonding,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “importance in economically and culturally,” “watch online entertainment,” and “preserving and collecting art.” Spelling errors—including “mordern,” “imprtance,” “wacting,” and “socail”—are noticeable and can distract the reader. Aim for more precise expressions, such as “economically and culturally significant,” “stream entertainment online,” and “preserve artistic and social values.” Proofreading spelling and checking common word partnerships would make your meaning more fluent and exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate the main ideas using mostly simple sentences and make some attempts to combine clauses, but the range of sentence structures is limited. Errors occur frequently in sentence formation and agreement, sometimes making the reader pause. For example, “Monthly subscription of wacting online videos are cheaper” has problems with number and sentence structure, while “Successful films also promotes” does not match the plural subject. There are also missing or inconsistent articles and sentence boundaries, as in “In digital age” and “everywhere. For example.” The anecdote contains several short, repetitive sentences rather than controlled complex structures. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then build longer sentences with clear subordinate clauses.
