Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the contemporary digital age there is availability of online entertainment which exclude the theatres and cinema are no longer needed and peoples on other ways also argues that theatres and cinema are still compulsory for both economic development, culture development and knowledge.

On one hand people had becomed fond of online entertainment as they are easily available to each screen and they having lack of time due to their works so that they go and watch theatre and cinema.

Platforms like netflix, youtube, prime video are example of some of online way of watching this helped the people by various ways like it saves their fund, travel, their time and others things which include their comfort and they are easily available for them to watch. These facilities have provided them a good space and make them thinks that cinemas and theatrea are not important.

On other hand cinema and theatres provide more economic development and culture development which cannot match the level of things we get on online platforms. By economicaly it provide more employment to the people who are working as actors and working near resturants, cafes and other public places which provide a support to them in their jobs. By culturally it is our culture to visit cinema and don't be addicted to online platforms because the way you can connected emotionally by watching cinema you cannot be connected by watching online platforms plus it also help you to get out from your houses and know the public places and help in their financial status.

In my openion theatres and cinemas are still important for peoples to watch and help the peoples economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state your view in the conclusion: online services are convenient and economical for viewers, while cinemas and theatres support employment and offer a shared cultural experience. These points are relevant, and examples such as Netflix and YouTube help illustrate the first view. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The economic argument is broad, and the cultural point that visiting cinemas is “our culture” needs explanation or a specific example. Your position is clearest in the final paragraph, but it would be stronger if stated in the introduction and supported consistently. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and a concrete example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. The signposts “On one hand” and “On other hand” help readers follow the contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are joined into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the first body paragraph moves from convenience and lack of time to platforms and savings without clearly separating the ideas. Some links are also unclear, as in “so that they go and watch theatre and cinema,” which appears to conflict with the point about online viewing. Use shorter sentences, organise each paragraph around one main claim, and make references and transitions more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “online entertainment,” “economic development,” “employment,” and “emotionally,” and the platform examples make the subject clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “theatres and cinema,” “people,” and “development.” Some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “available to each screen,” “saves their fund,” and “culture development,” which can make the intended meaning less clear. Spelling errors such as “openion,” “economicaly,” and “resturants” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range of expressions for convenience, cultural value, and local economic benefits, and check spelling and common word partnerships.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses with “as,” “which,” and “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors frequently affect clarity. Examples include “online entertainment which exclude,” where the verb does not agree with its subject, and “they having lack of time,” which has an incomplete verb structure. In “the way you can connected emotionally,” the verb form is incorrect, while “it also help” does not agree with its subject. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb forms and agreement in each sentence.
