Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear preference for keeping theatres and cinemas, and you offer relevant reasons, including cultural representation, employment and the shared experience of going with family and friends. These points show an understanding of the topic. However, the discussion of the opposing view is brief: the opening says people can watch entertainment online, but does not explain the advantages of online viewing, such as convenience or lower cost. Several supporting ideas are also unclear or under-developed, particularly the claim that cinema workers “could also feel happy” when audiences attend. Develop both sides more evenly and explain how each example supports your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from the two views to reasons for your opinion and then a personal conclusion. Linking expressions such as “In addition” and “Moreover” help signal further points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined without clear explanation. The opening paragraph shifts from online entertainment to personal enjoyment and then to friends and family, while the final paragraph repeats the importance of cinemas rather than drawing the discussion together. Some transitions, including “In contrast,” do not clearly show a contrast. Organise each paragraph around one main point and use linking phrases only when their relationship between ideas is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “economy,” “culture,” “employment,” “entertainment” and “artists,” so the reader can identify your main subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “solo breeder for their familiy” and “stay grounded and offline.” Spelling errors, including “becouse,” “couln't” and “meaningfull,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than repeating broad terms such as “important” and “enjoyment.” For example, describe cinemas as “a source of employment” or as venues that “preserve cultural traditions,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because” and “whenever.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction frequently interrupt the message. Examples include “theatres and cinema are must important,” “they have generates employments,” and “the theatres and cinema should be stay grounded.” Some sentences also lack a clear grammatical structure, such as “According the some people I agree the fact that is theatres and cinema is very important.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check verb forms and agreement, and use full stops to separate ideas when a sentence becomes difficult to control.
