Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the era of modernization, people can enjoy movies ad shows online at anytime in their homes so they beleive it is not important to go cinema for entertainment however, some people think that theaters are necessary for economic growth and for cultural importance as well. In this essay, i will discuss the thoughts of both groups.

By having massive excessive accessibilty of social media like Netflix and Movie box in these days citizens can watch any show and movie. It is a convenient source entertainment. Moreover, it also saves times and money as well. For instance, people do not have need to buy cinema ticket and travel to reach at theaters. The other thing is that, is 24/7 hours entertainment. People can watch, replay and can see different movies in local language beacuse of variety of subtitles available on social plateforms.

Theaters and Cinema are also have importance.Watching movie with high quality of sounds and on big screen is also more entertaining. For instance, last weekend i watched new hollywood movie " Mouse Trap" with my friends in cinema and it was great quality time and meorable activity for all of us. Furthermore, theaters can create jobs for management staff and for managers. The revenue collect from cinema and theaters can create a positive impact on country's economy. Parents should bring their children to cinemas to taught them about cultural language and dance. So, it is also a useful way to teach younger generation about the local culture.

In my oipnion, combination of both are very crucial. Online entertainment can be covenient because each time a person cannot afford to go for cinema. However, theaters should be well managed to aware people about culture and to contribute for country's GDP.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear personal position: online viewing is convenient, while cinemas remain valuable for shared entertainment, employment and cultural learning. The examples about avoiding ticket and travel costs and watching a film with friends are relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that cinemas teach children about “cultural language and dance” would be stronger with a clearer explanation or a specific example of how a theatre supports this. The economic argument also mentions jobs and revenue but does not develop their wider effects. Your conclusion restates your preference for combining both options, though the position could be made more precise about why cinemas remain important despite online access.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for online entertainment, one for cinemas, and a concluding opinion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “Furthermore” help signal relationships between ideas. The organisation is generally logical, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the cinema paragraph, the move from sound quality to employment, then cultural education, feels like a list rather than a developed progression. Phrases such as “The other thing is that” and “So” are also rather basic. To strengthen cohesion, group related points and use clearer referencing and transitions to show how each example supports the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “convenient,” “revenue,” “economic growth,” “subtitles,” and “local culture.” These choices allow you to discuss both practical and cultural aspects of entertainment. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “important,” “people,” and “movie,” as well as inaccurate or unnatural combinations. For example, “massive excessive accessibility” is unclear, “positive impact on country's economy” is imprecise, and “quality of sounds” is not a natural collocation. Spelling errors such as “beleive,” “accessibilty,” and “meorable” are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, using structures such as “because,” “as well,” and “For instance” to connect ideas. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical control are frequent enough to make some passages difficult to read. For example, “Theaters and Cinema are also have importance” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “Parents should bring their children to cinemas to taught them” uses the wrong verb form. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “It is a convenient source entertainment. Moreover” and “the revenue collect.” Practise building accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; also check verb forms, sentence boundaries, and capitalisation.
