Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals belive that in modern world theatres and cinemas are not longer important because many people can watch all the entertaiment shows and films in online. Some argue thinks that theatres and cinemas are sill very improtant for the countries economically benifites and culturally. Both arguments are valid but i prefer waching all the entertainment in theatres and cinemas as compare to the online.

One hand, many people live a very busy life and they have not enough time to go cinemas and theatres to waching movies, dramas, as well as comdey shows. And they belive that we are waching all type of entertainment on online. Because we find all movies, songs and other activities in our home with the help of internet. Furthermore, we don't pay any cost for waching movies and other activities. By the help of internet we save lot of time and lot of money.

On the other hand, most individuals belive that watching movies and dramas in cinemas and theatres are very entertainable rather than watching on internet. On the weekand going to the cinema with our friends and enjoy films together. Cinemas and theatres are provide proper envoirnment and get a chance to make lot of friends and capture all memories in the form of photos. In addition, cinemas and theatres play a vital role in the countries economy and promote culture.

In conclusion, and my preference watching films, dramas and family shows in cinemas and theatres are more enjoyable as compare to the watching in mobile phones.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a preference for watching entertainment in cinemas and theatres. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons for online viewing, such as convenience, saving time and avoiding costs; the second mentions shared enjoyment and cultural and economic value. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that venues “promote culture” is not supported with an example, and the economic benefit is not developed. Your opinion is present, but the conclusion repeats it without explaining why it outweighs the convenience of online entertainment. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example, and make your position more fully reasoned.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. You also use signposting such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “One hand” needs a clearer transition, and the sentence beginning “Because we find all movies…” is a fragment that interrupts the flow. Ideas within paragraphs sometimes appear as a list rather than a developed sequence, particularly the points about the cinema environment, making friends and taking photos. Use complete sentences and connect each supporting detail explicitly to the paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “entertainment,” “internet,” “economy,” “culture” and “memories.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less natural, such as “belive,” “entertaiment,” “improtant” and “weekand.” Some combinations are also awkward: “watching all type of entertainment on online” and “very entertainable” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for convenience, shared experiences and cultural contribution would help you express your ideas with greater clarity and variety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic linking structures, but sentence patterns are limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “Some argue thinks” combines incompatible verb forms, while “Cinemas and theatres are provide” has an incorrect verb construction. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence completeness, as in “On the weekand going to the cinema…” and the fragment “Because we find all movies…”. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, verb forms after auxiliaries, and ensuring every sentence has a complete main clause.
