Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the present modern days, it is often argued whether people should watch theatres and cinemas or the entertainment should be gained from the internet. Although watching cinemas being physicaly present in the shows boost up the economy and reality shows can truely depicts the culture, I firmly believe that watching acts in the internet is more economical and time saving.
On the one hand, watching shows in theatres and cinemas gives the experience to the of good sound with wide platform. For instance, new movies are initailly released in the cinema halls and theatres to boost earnings of the producers. Beacuse of this, actors are paid good sum of money. As as a result, country earning remains inside the country. The audience can also get the better experience watching movies or plays inside such spaces as compared to that of watching in home from the internet.
On the other hand, watching shows from internet is both economical for time and money. People who prefer to watch movies or plays can enjoy their personal time inside their house. In additon, with good setup of monitor and speakers, viewers can have a good experience inside their home. Although, watching online movies decreases the earnings of the producers and online shows cannot truely depicts the cultural prospects, sense of watching being alone in a home from internet is the popular go to place for the numerous viewers. For example, Netflix, an online platform, contains plethora of movies and shows, has been gaining attention with the younger generations with small fee from the viewers. In addition, the producers are getting income from these online platforms.
In conclusion, audience can acquire better sense of entertainment while watching in the dedicated theatres and cinemas but those places charge huge amount of money per shows from the customers. I content to watching movies and shows in online platform outweigh the economy advantage of the viewers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear preference for online entertainment, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The discussion of cinemas’ economic role is relevant: you mention initial releases, producers’ earnings and actors’ pay. You also explain the convenience and lower cost of online viewing, with Netflix as an example. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that cinema earnings remain within the country needs clarification, and the cultural importance of theatres is only briefly mentioned rather than illustrated. Your opinion that online viewing is more economical and time-saving is clear, but the conclusion’s reference to “economy advantage” is difficult to interpret. Develop the cultural and economic comparisons more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The contrast between “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the discussion, and examples are placed within the relevant paragraphs. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. “Although” at the start of the sentence about online movies does not connect smoothly to the main clause, while “As as a result” repeats a linking expression. The conclusion also shifts from comparing the options to an unclear statement about “economy advantage.” Improve progression by making each paragraph’s main point explicit, then linking each supporting detail directly to it. Clearer referencing would also help readers see how the examples support your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “producers,” “audience,” “online platform,” and “cultural prospects,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “plethora of movies and shows,” though some choices are inaccurate or unnatural. Phrases such as “watching cinemas,” “boost up the economy,” and “good sum of money” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors, including “physicaly,” “initailly,” and “Beacuse,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, refer to “watching films at the cinema” and “increase producers’ revenue.” This would make your vocabulary more natural and exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “Although” and “For example,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms are noticeable. For example, “reality shows can truely depicts” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “watching shows in theatres and cinemas gives the experience to the of good sound” is structurally incomplete. In “Netflix … contains …, has been gaining attention,” the sentence construction is also faulty. Some sentences are long and combine several ideas without clear grammatical control. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking agreement and sentence boundaries. More consistent accuracy is needed alongside your attempts at complex structures.
