Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both views and state your opinion in the conclusion: online viewing is, in your view, more convenient and economical. The response also gives relevant reasons, including saving time and money and preserving cinemas as social and cultural spaces. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with specific examples, and the economic and cultural importance of theatres is only briefly covered. Your position is clearest at the end, rather than being developed throughout. The response is 225 words, so it is 25 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop the discussion. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason and add a concrete example for both sides.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “on the other hand” and “in conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and several ideas are joined in long strings with repeated “also,” “in addition,” and “furthermore.” For example, the paragraph supporting cinemas moves from future generations to friendliness, direct viewing, social relations, and ticket costs without clearly explaining how these points connect. Some sentences are difficult to follow because the links between claims are not explicit. Use one central idea per paragraph, develop it in a logical order, and vary linking devices while making references clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “entertainment,” “future generations,” “societies,” and “comfortable.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, which sometimes makes the intended meaning less clear. For instance, “save this hobby for the future generations” does not clearly express the cultural value of preserving cinemas, while “everything thing provide” is difficult to interpret. There are also spelling and word-form problems, such as “seris” and “thats.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing general phrases with terms such as “shared cultural experience” or “streaming platforms” would help express your ideas more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using clauses and reasons, but sentence structures are mostly simple or become difficult to control when several points are joined. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “individuals can watching” needs a base verb after “can,” and “these places makes” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening, “there is a different opinions,” also shows problems with agreement and article use. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the message, although the overall meaning is generally recoverable. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled complex forms using “because,” “although,” and relative clauses. Check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
