Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a clear preference for online viewing, especially in the opening and conclusion. The points about family members sharing one subscription and viewers being able to pause or skip scenes are relevant, while the cinema paragraph mentions the large screen, sound and shared atmosphere. However, the discussion is uneven: the online benefits receive more explanation, and the cultural and economic importance of theatres and cinemas is not really explored. The village visitor example is also difficult to connect to the wider value of cinemas. To strengthen the response, explain each side more fully and directly address the task’s economic and cultural claims. The stated word count excludes nine words copied from the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, separate discussion of online viewing and cinema, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. However, progression within and between ideas is often unclear. Phrases such as “on the first hand,” “releating to this,” and “On the other side” are repetitive or awkward, and some sentences run together without clear punctuation. The conclusion repeats the preference and budget point rather than bringing the two views together. Use clear topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main idea, and connect examples explicitly to that idea. More accurate referencing would also help clarify who “they” and “him” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “budget friendly,” “high quality sound,” and “environment,” which helps communicate the main comparison. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “watch movie,” “benefits,” and “more beneficial.” Frequent spelling errors such as “moive,” “diffirent,” “intresting,” and “enviroment,” along with unnatural combinations such as “speachless feelingd” and “spend time with time,” make the writing less clear and natural. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for discussing entertainment, cost and cultural value, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some longer sentences and gives examples, but sentence structures are limited and errors are frequent. For instance, “many thinks” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “a family watch” and “all family member watch” also need agreement and plural forms. Articles and prepositions are often missing or misplaced, as in “watching movie in the cinema” and “watch moive on online platform.” Several clauses are joined without reliable punctuation, making relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then combine them using controlled subordinate clauses. Check agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
