Student answer (Band 5.5)
The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the way of people consume entertainment. While, some thinks that the theaters and cinemas are no longer significant as people can watch any entertainment stuff online, others argue that the theaters and cinemas are still contribute in both economical and cultural significance. This essay will discuss both point of views before giving my point of view.
On the one hand, digital platforms have made entertainment more accessible and affordable. People can watch it on their mobile phones when ever they want. They do not need to spend their money and time to watch any entertaining things. This is more durable for the person who has no time to visit cinemas and theaters physically. Consequently, the online entertainment now becoming the practical alternate to traditional venues.
On the other hand, theaters and cinemas provide benefits that digital platform can not fully replaced. Theaters and cinemas give chance to people to share their experience collectively. Economically, they generate employment for actors, technicians, transportation as well as food restaurants. Culturally, theaters are pure art form and they provide the opportunity to live interact with their favorite actors. Similarly, watching film on the big and large screen with great sound system can create more expressive experience than watching at home.
In my opinion, digital technology ow getting advance rapidly and it will replaced theaters and cinemas completely by watching all that stuff online at home with more flexibility.
In conclusion, digital technology can not fully relaced theaters and cinemas by providing more accessibility to watch anything at home. While, cinemas and theaters play a vital role economically and culturally form providing employment to giving the chance of sharing expressions and interactions collectively.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a personal opinion, so the response is relevant to the task. The online-access argument is supported by convenience and affordability, while the case for venues includes shared experiences, employment, and cultural value. However, the discussion is uneven and several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, “they generate employment” names economic benefits but does not show how these venues support local economies; the cultural claim that theatres are a “pure art form” is also unclear. Your position is difficult to follow: the introduction says you will give your view, and the final body paragraph predicts venues will be replaced, but the conclusion says digital technology cannot fully replace them. Make your opinion consistent and develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, an opinion paragraph, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main sections. However, progression between ideas is not always clear, and some linking phrases are mechanical or inaccurately used. “While” begins the introduction’s contrast but is not correctly connected to the main clause, and “Similarly” does not clearly show the relationship between the cultural point and the cinema-screen example. The opinion paragraph also conflicts with the conclusion, weakening the overall line of argument. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting point explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim. Ensure the conclusion restates the same position established in the introduction and developed in the body.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “digital platforms,” “accessible and affordable,” “generate employment,” and “collectively,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “transportation” and “cultural significance.” However, the range is limited in places, and inaccurate word choice or collocation sometimes makes meaning unclear. Phrases such as “entertainment stuff,” “more durable for the person,” and “live interact with their favorite actors” are not natural in this context. Spelling errors such as “relaced” and “ow” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural expressions and check spelling; for example, describe online viewing as “a convenient alternative” rather than “more durable.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a contrast in the introduction and a relative clause in “the person who has no time.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as more complex attempts. Examples include “some thinks,” “theaters and cinemas are still contribute,” and “it will replaced,” where agreement or verb forms are incorrect. The opening “While” clause is also left without a properly connected main clause, and “the online entertainment now becoming” is missing an auxiliary verb. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise subject–verb agreement, auxiliary verbs, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for a complete clause and correct punctuation.
