Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the modern era, we have found everyone has a mobile phone and most of us have computer or giant tv screen at home. So, many of us avoid cinema hall or theatres to be entertained though the cinema hall and theatres carry the cultural history of a nation or country.
Throughout my writing, I will give my opinion towards the statement and I will try to show the causes behind my opinion.
Firstly, the time has changed a lot. Before to the mass people, entertainment means going to cinema hall or theatres and travelling, gossiping with friends and family despite this now a days we try to find our entertainment in the mobile phone. We don’t talk to others like our neighbours, or our friends, even not with our family members.
But to me, the significance of cinema hall and theatres is never replaceble. It is one of the major part of economy and through theatres we have gotten so many talents in this entertainment world. So, how can it be replaced with online!
I still remember, in my childhood when my dad said that, "we will go to the cinema hall enjoy a cinema." that was an exciting moment for me and my brother. And then, for so many times I went to cinema hall and it givea me pleasure. And when I went to the theatre to enjoy a drama for the first time, I was mesmerised with the live acting in front of me.
yes, because of the exploitation of the internet, many of us may be avoid cinema halls & theatres, but the beauty of cinema hall and theatres will never fade away.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear personal view that cinemas and theatres remain important, and the childhood memories of visiting them provide relevant support. You also acknowledge the opposing view by noting that people increasingly use phones for entertainment. However, the discussion is uneven: the online-entertainment argument is described mainly as a change in habits, without explaining its advantages, while the economic and cultural importance of venues is asserted rather than illustrated with specific reasons or examples. The introduction promises to discuss the causes behind your opinion, but the response does not fully develop both sides of the question. To strengthen the response, explain why online viewing appeals to people and support the economic and cultural claims with concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable sequence, moving from an introduction to changing habits, your own view, a personal example and a conclusion. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and words such as “Firstly” and “But” signal some relationships between ideas. However, progression is not consistently clear: “Throughout my writing” announces a plan rather than advancing the argument, and the shift from social isolation to the economic role of theatres is abrupt. Several ideas are repeated, especially that people now use phones and that venues cannot be replaced. Build each paragraph around one side of the discussion, connect claims to explanations, and use references such as “these venues” to avoid repeating “cinema hall and theatres.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “cultural history,” “economy,” “talents,” and “live acting,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the response less clear. Examples include “mass people,” “exploitation of the internet,” and “the beauty … will never fade away”; the intended meanings would be clearer with more precise collocations. There are also spelling and word-form errors, such as “replaceble” and “mesmerised” (in this context, “mesmerised” is acceptable, but the surrounding phrasing could be more natural). Aim to use precise terms for online viewing, audience demand, employment and cultural heritage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few longer structures, including “though … now a days” and the sentence beginning “yes, because of…,” but control is inconsistent, and many sentences rely on simple patterns. Errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “most of us have computer” needs an article, “It is one of the major part” has a number-agreement problem, and “it givea me pleasure” has an incorrect verb form. The opening sentence also joins ideas awkwardly, while the childhood quotation lacks a clear grammatical connection to the surrounding sentence. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
