Student answer (Band 5.5)
From my point of view, though it is the time of technology but theatres and cinema halls are still entertaining and economically significant.
The first opinion, where people think cinema halls and theatres are not important they are not wrong from there point of view at all because it is true nowadays we can find everything on the internet. Movies, dramas, tv series, cartoon, anime etc. can be found on online streaming sites which can be free or can be paid. It is good deal for those people who like to enjoy a movie or series alone or at home because it is a normal fact that some people do not like outing or going to crowded places and there is a lot of introvert people also who do not like to engage with people. For these reasons the opinion it not wrong at all.
On the other hand, cinema halls and theatres are needed for the people who enjoys watching movies or dramas in a exciting atmosphere. In the halls watching movies or dramas have its own taste. When a exciting scene comes on the screen people enjoy it by screaming or sharing a mini thought. Also watching cinemas on a big screens increases the fun of watching it with great sounding system and sometimes we get goosebumps. Economically also theatres and cinemas are needed because it creates many job oppotunities for people like selling tickets, selling snacks, management position etc.
Ultimately, I will prefer watching a movie or a drama in a cinema hall or in a threare because of the reasons I have written

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both perspectives and make your own preference clear: online viewing suits people who prefer staying home, while cinemas offer a shared, immersive experience and create jobs. These are relevant points, and the examples of ticket and snack sales help address the economic argument. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The case for online entertainment is explained mainly through convenience and introversion, while the economic and cultural importance of theatres is only briefly covered. The cultural dimension could be made clearer by explaining how live performance or communal film-going supports artistic traditions and shared experiences. Your conclusion states a preference, but “because of the reasons I have written” does not add a developed final justification.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an opening position, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding preference. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “Ultimately” make the progression easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “For these reasons the opinion it not wrong at all” does not clearly connect the examples to the claim, and the opening phrase “The first opinion, where people think…” is awkwardly organised. The final paragraph is also very brief and refers generally to “the reasons I have written” rather than drawing the main points together. Use clearer topic sentences and explicit links between each reason and the view it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “online streaming sites,” “crowded places,” “job opportunities,” and “management position.” There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “exciting atmosphere” and “goosebumps.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “watching cinemas” is not a natural way to describe viewing films, and “great sounding system” is imprecise. “A mini thought” is also unclear in this context. Spelling errors such as “oppotunities” and “threare” reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing cultural and economic effects, and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “though it is the time of technology” and a relative clause in “people who like to enjoy a movie.” Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “there point of view” instead of “their point of view,” “the opinion it not wrong” instead of “the opinion is not wrong,” and “people who enjoys” instead of “people who enjoy.” Articles and agreement also need attention in phrases such as “a exciting scene” and “there is a lot of introvert people.” The final sentence is an incomplete construction after “Ultimately.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, possessives, and complete sentence structure, while retaining your attempts at longer sentences.
