Student answer (Band 6.0)
Few individuals believe that in digital era, movie theatres and cinemas have lost their prevalance as they have been replaced by online platforms. I partially agree with this mainly because, although online sources provides us a wide range of movies, the experience of a cinema is unmatchable.
In the present era, people rely more on online resources for entertainment purposes. It is due to the reason that people find it more convenient, comfortable and economical at the same time. For instance, if someone buys a netflix subscription , he/she can access a plenty of series and movies by just paying a marginal amount of subscription . Therefore, it provides a sense of privacy and comfort as well. Thus, it is generally preferred nowadays to watch all the entertainment online.
On the other hand, it is worth considering that the experience we get in cinemas and theatre is increadibly fascinating. Cinemas are the source of entertainment which many people enjoy particularly because of its vibe and curiousness that they feel before watching the movie for the first time. To cite an example, some people usually prefer to watch the very first show. Therefore, they find it more enjoyable to visit the cinema and get a first hand experience.
Therefore, from my prespective, online pllatforms can never replace the theatres and cinemas completely but it can definitely allow more people to access certain entertainment source even if they are living in a remote area. Hence, it is right to say that digital age is contributing to the traditional methods of entertainment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both perspectives and give a discernible, qualified opinion: online viewing is convenient, but cinemas offer an experience that cannot be fully replaced. The Netflix example supports the online-access argument, while the first-show example illustrates why some people value cinema visits. However, the task specifically asks about the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas, and these dimensions are not really discussed. The cinema paragraph focuses mainly on atmosphere and personal enjoyment, while the conclusion says digital platforms help people in remote areas without explaining the wider significance. Develop each side more fully—for example, consider jobs and local business, or shared cultural events—and make your position more explicit and consistently supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for online entertainment, a contrasting paragraph about cinemas, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “Therefore” help readers follow the main direction, and the ideas generally progress logically. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger cohesion. However, several linking expressions are repetitive or mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Therefore,” and some connections between claims are not fully explained. For instance, the conclusion’s point about access in remote areas does not clearly follow from the preceding discussion of cinema atmosphere. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make the relationship between each example and its main claim more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “subscription,” “privacy,” “first-hand experience,” and “remote area.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and there are attempts to use less common expressions. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “prevalance,” “curiousness,” and “a plenty of series and movies.” Spelling errors, including “increadibly,” “prespective,” and “pllatforms,” also reduce accuracy. These slips do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, but they limit precision and control. Aim to use familiar collocations accurately, and proofread spelling; for example, “a wide selection of films and series” is more natural than “a plenty of series and movies.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“although online sources…”) and a conditional example (“if someone buys…”). Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the range is sufficient to express contrast and cause. Some grammatical errors remain, however. In “online sources provides us,” the plural subject requires “provide”; “the experience… is unmatchable” would be more naturally formed as “the experience… is unmatched”; and “it can definitely allow” has an unclear singular reference after “online platforms.” There are also punctuation and spacing problems, such as missing spaces after full stops and before punctuation. Check subject–verb agreement, pronoun reference, and sentence punctuation to make your structures more consistently accurate.
