Student answer (Band 5.5)
there is an ongoing debate regarding the new developmenet generation, now we can easily watch cultural movies, comedy shows and all the entertainment they want online witohut going to the cinemas or theatres. While some individuals believe that cinemas and theatres are no longer important in these digital age. Others argue that theatres and cinemas are crucial in the economical and clutural way. This essay will examine both perspectives before presenting my own opinion.
Examining the former view, its proponents argue that going to the cinema is a waste of money and time This primarily because by going to the cinema or theatres you need to travel to the cinemas of theatres and buy a ticket which can cost you more money. For example attending a comedy show in other city will cost you much money from buying a tickets for bus and cinemas also having a lunch around the cinemas which is expensive in somehow. Moreover, supporters of this viewpoint also maintain that they will cost the government more the reason for this is that government need to build a cinemas and hiring a staff for it, also should provide the artist a good condition to act , from the transport , meals and the salary.
On the countrary, those who support the latter view present their our compelling arguments. To begin with, they contend that cinemas and theatres can make money for the government and provide more jobs, this can be explained by, cinemas shows can benefit a good rate of money from visitors and also support the local business, for instance, visitors to the city which have the show in the cinema will use the local transport and buying things and foods arround the cinemas In addition, advocates of this perspective assert that the visitors will explore the traditions of the city and will visit more places after the show which can lead to discover their city's traditions
In conclusion, although there are a persuasive arguments supporting both persepectives on going to the cinemas or just watching from home. I am firmly of the opinion that the cinemas and theatres are very crucial for the governments in the ecnomical and cultural way, because it will support the tradition of the city also the local business

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the question and gives a clear personal view: the conclusion supports cinemas and theatres because of their economic and cultural value. Relevant points include the cost and travel involved in attending, government spending, employment, and benefits to local businesses. However, some ideas are not fully explained or are unclear. For example, the claim that venues “will cost the government more” is not clearly connected to why online entertainment is preferable, and the cultural argument about visitors exploring local traditions needs a more specific explanation or example. Develop each side with a clearer chain of reasoning, and make sure the examples directly support the point being discussed. This would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each viewpoint, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “Examining the former view,” “On the contrary,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The sentence beginning “For example attending a comedy show…” runs several costs together, while the point about government expenditure shifts between building venues and supporting performers without a clear link. Some references, such as “they” and “this,” do not always make their meaning precise. Use shorter, more clearly organised supporting sentences and connect each example explicitly to its main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital age,” “proponents,” “local business,” “traditions,” and “visitors,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “compelling arguments.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “developmenet,” “witohut,” “clutural,” and “persepectives” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “in the economical and cultural way,” “benefit a good rate of money,” and “in somehow.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than more elaborate wording. Proofread spelling carefully and learn useful combinations such as “generate revenue,” “create employment,” and “cultural significance” to express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some complex sentences are not controlled successfully, and sentence boundaries and punctuation are inconsistent. For instance, “This primarily because…” lacks a complete verb structure, while the long sentence beginning “For example attending…” needs clearer clause boundaries. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and plural forms, as in “government need” and “a tickets.” Use a reliable pattern for complex sentences, check that each sentence has a complete main clause, and review subject–verb agreement and articles. More accurate sentence construction would make the reasoning easier to follow.
