Some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. Others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.

Many believe that in recent days, cinema houses and theatres do not hold as much value as they had in the past, and the reason to this is the huge availability of this kind of stuff on internet. While many others still consider that theatres and cinemas are crucial for culture preservation and economic growth. However in my opinion, when everything is available on social media why to spend money for buying expensive tickets only to sit inside a big hall and watch a movie when one can do the same by watching it online on their phones or LED's while sitting at home. In addition to this, I believe that, this is dependent on the person itself whether he wants to see the film on the big screen inside theaters or at home. Moreover, I partially support the idea of economic growth through the entertainment industry. They might be important for enhancing the economy by earning more, especially, on the account of special events. The box office ticket sales may be a significant factor in retaining the cinema culture alive and active.

Overall, there are multiple key reasons to the fact that more people are in disagreement with the current importance of cinema halls and theatre setups. For instance, alot of citizens particularly older ones, do not prefer to go to cinema halls, barely for watching a movie or any other form of entertainment. On the other hand, many youngsters and teenagers still get attracted towards big screens. For example, they prioritize watching entertainment based stuff on big screens.

From my perspective, when each and every thing is available on the internet, from cooking based shows to action movies, from news channels to weather forecasts, why one should go for bigger setups. For instance, these days every person is very busy and could not find much time to spend, by going in theatres, as they find it very difficult to get spare time for buying a ticket then go to watch a movie. They rather prefer to watch it online any where at any time.

In conclusion, few people argue that theatres and cinemas might be economically and culturally important. However, more people believe that in today's digital world, there is no need to run after a cinema just for watching entertainment which we can see online at any hour and any where.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear preference for online entertainment, especially in the discussion of convenience, cost and busy schedules, and you acknowledge the opposing view that cinemas can support the economy and preserve cinema culture. These points are relevant to the question. However, the two views are not explored with equal depth: the cultural importance of theatres is mentioned briefly, while the economic point is asserted rather than explained with a specific example. Your position also shifts somewhat: you favour online viewing, but say the choice depends on the individual and partially support cinemas’ economic role. Develop the cultural argument and clarify how these qualifications fit your overall opinion to address all parts more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, several body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can generally identify your main topic. However, progression between ideas is not consistently clear. The opening paragraph combines your opinion, personal choice, economic growth and ticket sales, making it difficult to see how the points relate. The paragraph beginning “Overall” introduces older people and young people, but its connection to the preceding discussion is unclear. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “For instance” and “On the other hand” are used, but sometimes signal relationships that are not fully developed. Give each paragraph one main purpose, order the arguments systematically, and use references and transitions that clearly show contrast, cause or example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “box office ticket sales,” “economic growth,” “big screens” and “digital world,” so the subject is clear. However, several expressions are awkward or imprecise, and some repetition limits the range. Phrases such as “the reason to this,” “this kind of stuff,” “entertainment based stuff” and “run after a cinema” do not sound natural in formal academic writing. “Social media” is also not an accurate general term for films and programmes available online. Aim for precise collocations and a more formal register, and avoid repeating “available on the internet” and “watch online” without adding a distinct idea.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including contrast clauses beginning “While” and “when,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. However, errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles and punctuation recur. For example, “While many others still consider that…” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence, and “whether he wants” does not agree with the general plural “person” used in the surrounding idea. In “every person is very busy and could not find,” the verb forms do not fit together consistently. Commas are also misplaced, as in “I believe that, this is dependent.” Practise complete sentence structures and check agreement, verb forms and punctuation when editing.
