Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely believed that live theatres and movie houses are not as important as they were in past due to the advancements in the digital world and online availability of these entertainment materials. However, some believe that these online sources can not replace big screens and playhouses due to financial and cultural values. I strongly support the earlier mentioned points and argue that the digital world has largely replaced these physical venues.
First, we are living in an electronic world, where every information, material and entertainment content is at hand. So, some people believe that they do not need to go outside to entertain themselves while watching movies on big screens or enjoying playhouses. For instance, most of the people use youtube application for watching movies and live theatres while laying down on their beds.
However, despite social media and digital world, few argue that these live theatres and cinemas are still important at the present time. They supported this claim by adding that these platforms are not only a source of entertainment but also an important part of a culture. These sources depicts the cultural values of a society and are much more cheaper than expensive internet pakages.
In my opinion, these in-person entertainment spaces are a valuable source of entertainment but they are not as noteworthy as they were in the past due to easy internet access and numerous social media applications. Now a days, every entertainment material is at hand distance and we can access these live sources while staying in our homes. Furthermore, the new options, such as live stream, on these social media platforms make it much easier to enjoy these content online.
In conclusion, people diverse in their opinions regarding the importance of live theatres and playhouses in this advance age of technology. But, I strongly believe that these physical venues have lost their values overtime due to fact that people prefer to enjoy these content while living in their houses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear opinion that online entertainment has largely replaced physical venues, and you mention both sides of the discussion. However, the two views are not developed evenly or in enough detail. The case for online viewing is supported mainly by the general point that content is readily available, with YouTube as an example. The opposing view is introduced through cultural value and cost, but the claim that venues are cheaper than internet packages is not explained and does not clearly support the importance of theatres and cinemas. Your response also tends to treat theatres and cinemas together without distinguishing their economic and cultural roles. Develop each side with specific reasons or examples, then make your comparison and opinion more fully reasoned.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “First,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “these sources” in the paragraph about cultural values could refer to online platforms or physical venues, and the shift from cultural importance to internet-package costs is abrupt. The opinion paragraph also repeats the point that entertainment is accessible at home rather than extending the argument. Use clearer references and make each sentence build on the previous one, with more explicit links between the reasons and your conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital world,” “cultural values,” “live theatres,” and “social media applications.” However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “entertainment,” “sources,” and “important,” and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate. For instance, “every information” and “at hand distance” are not natural expressions, while “live sources” does not clearly describe online content. Spelling and form errors such as “pakages” and “Now a days” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise terms that distinguish streaming services, cinema attendance, and live performance, and check common collocations and spelling when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “where,” “while,” and “due to,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction. For example, “these sources depicts” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “much more cheaper” uses an incorrect comparative form. In “every information, material and entertainment content,” the noun forms and determiner pattern are not controlled, while “due to fact” is missing an article. There are also awkward constructions such as “while laying down on their beds.” Review agreement and article use, and practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen the response.
