Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this technological era, few individuals presume that cineams as well as theatres are not crucial for longer time because people can watch on the internet for entertainment. However, others believe that cinemas and theatres are play an imperative role culturally along with economically. In my perspective, latter statement is more convincing. Whereas, i will dicuss both aspects in the forthcoming pargraphs.

On the one hand, there are multifarious causes why cinemas or theatres are important both culturally and economically. Predominantly, cinemas and theatres are assist to protect the culture To elaborate it, nowadays, individuals are become technosavy and they spend their quality time on the internet as a result social gap is increased between them so in the case of cinemas and theatres people can spend their sufficient time with their family and friends which helps to make their relation strong. Thus, it helps to save the relations.

On the other hand, there are numerous reasons why online is the better option for entertainment. Primarily, internet is pocket friendly way of entertainment because ticket prices are quite high in cinemas. To explain, there are ample of apps on the internet for watching movies such as Jio Hotstar, Netflix and so on which provides monthly reasonable package. Individuals can watch distinct kinds of movies for the whole month instead of watch one movie on a single ticket. Therefore, internet is the affordable way of entertainment.

To recapitulate, i reiterate my perspective, cinemas and theatres are the best source of entertainment because it helps to connect the strong bond in this busy era.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear opinion that cinemas and theatres remain important, and you discuss both the value of in-person venues and the affordability of online entertainment. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the venue paragraph focuses mainly on spending time with family and friends, rather than explaining the cultural or economic importance named in the prompt. The online paragraph offers a relevant comparison of subscription costs and cinema tickets, but it does not explore other reasons people prefer online viewing. Your conclusion repeats your position but does not bring the discussion together. To strengthen the response, explain how venues preserve or showcase culture and support jobs or local economies, then develop the opposing view with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the overall arrangement easy to follow. Some links, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Thus, it helps to save the relations” repeats the preceding point, while “Whereas” does not connect smoothly to the sentence that follows. The first body paragraph also moves from cultural importance to social relationships without clearly explaining the connection. Use linking phrases to show cause, contrast, and examples more precisely, and make each paragraph progress through one central idea rather than repeating it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “imperative role,” “pocket friendly,” “reasonable package,” and “distinct kinds of movies.” These choices show an effort to use less common language, but several are inaccurate, misspelled, or unnatural, which limits precision. Examples include “cineams,” “technosavy,” and “multifarious causes”; “internet is pocket friendly way” is also an awkward collocation. Some repetition of “entertainment,” “cinemas,” and “theatres” makes the range seem limited. Aim for accurate, natural expressions such as “affordable option,” “digitally savvy,” and “a wide range of films.” Proofreading spelling and checking collocations will make your ideas clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect construction beginning “because ticket prices are quite high” and a longer sentence about online viewing. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “cinemas and theatres are play” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “individuals are become” uses an incorrect verb form. In “people can spend their sufficient time,” the adjective placement is also problematic. Capitalisation and punctuation need attention, particularly the lowercase “i” and the missing full stop after “culture.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a correctly formed subordinate clause before adding further detail.
