Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few people argued that in digital era, theatres and movie halls are not necessary beacuse they have option to watch it online. while, others believe that theatres and cinemas still have there own value both economically and culturally. Where I belive both things have there individual value. In this essay i will discuss both the views with some relevent example.

On the one hand, by watching shows and movies online gives us more freedom and save money. In other words, watching shows and movies online allows you to watch anything at any time without travel to cinema halls due to which people not only save there time they also save travel cost. Additionaly, In my experience when i was admit in the hospital at that time i watch my favourite movies and web series online. Moreover, nowaday's cinema tickets are much expenisve instead of buying a single ticket people can opt ott subscription at the same cost for one month in which they can whole thousand of movie and shows at same price.

On the other hand, cinema and theatres help to boost our economy and culture. in other words, cinema allows us to watch movie with wide range of audience of different relegious this can helps us to allow to know our culture. In my experience, i lastly watch a movie based on indian hindu mythalogy in cinema hall at that time i observed many other religious people are also watching with us and enjoy it together. In result, it allows to create more unity amoung different culture. On the other side, movie production create lots of money from cinema halls which helps to grow our economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a position: “both things have their individual value.” The online-entertainment paragraph gives relevant reasons—convenience, saving travel costs and access through subscriptions—and the hospital example makes this view personal. You also explain cultural value through shared viewing and mention cinema’s contribution to the economy. However, the position is not developed into a clear final judgement, and some claims need fuller explanation. For example, the economic point that production “create lots of money” is asserted without showing how cinemas support jobs or businesses. The cultural example is relevant, but its link to theatres’ wider cultural importance could be made more explicit. Develop these points and conclude by weighing the two views.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a logical sequence within the paragraphs. Signposting such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the discussion. However, some linking is mechanical or imprecise. “In other words” introduces explanations that sometimes repeat rather than clarify the preceding point, while “On the other side” does not clearly signal the relationship between the cultural and economic arguments. The final paragraph also ends without a concluding summary or a clear return to your opinion. Use fewer formulaic transitions, connect each example directly to its main claim, and add a brief conclusion to strengthen progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital era,” “OTT subscription,” “movie production,” and “different cultures.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-choice, and collocation errors make the writing less natural. Examples include “movie halls,” “there own value,” “relegious,” and “create more unity amoung different culture.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “they can whole thousand of movie and shows,” which obscures the intended meaning. Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise terms for economic and cultural effects would also help you express the argument with greater flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “when,” “which,” and “due to which.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “by watching shows and movies online gives us” has a faulty sentence structure, and “this can helps us” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “in digital era” and the lowercase sentence beginning “while.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause, although the overall meaning remains recoverable. Practise forming complete clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and proofreading punctuation and capitalisation.
