Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a position in the conclusion: online platforms are popular, but they cannot completely replace cinemas. The online-side points about flexible viewing and lower cost are relevant, and the examples of reality shows help illustrate why some content is watched online. However, the discussion of cinemas focuses mainly on sound, screen size and spending time with family; it does not explain the economic and cultural importance named in the prompt in much depth. The claim that cinemas are important “economically” is not supported with an example, such as jobs or local business. Your opinion is present but brief, and the final statement that both platforms have value is not fully explained. Develop and support these ideas more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the change of viewpoint clear, while “For instance” introduces examples. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The online paragraph moves from reality shows to young people, leisure time and cost without clearly linking each point to the main argument. Connectors such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “Other reason” are used mechanically, and some sentences run ideas together. The conclusion repeats the position but does not draw the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s central point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “leisure time,” “economically,” and “culturally,” and you attempt to discuss entertainment in different settings. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response difficult to interpret. For example, “multiplaxies” is unclear, “theater screen consist a wide screen area” is not a natural way to describe the experience, and “convenient both economically and culturally” does not express the intended meaning precisely. Spelling errors such as “enterned,” “belive,” and “todays” are also noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural phrases and check spelling; precise vocabulary will make your ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason-and-example structure beginning “The main reason is that” and a contrast in the conclusion. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Examples include “some individuals are believe,” “such type of shows does not allowed,” and “people can watch what they want in their leisure time so it's does not affect their schedule.” These show problems with verb forms, agreement and sentence construction. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “theater screen consist a wide screen area.” Punctuation is sometimes missing where ideas are joined. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a correctly formed supporting clause before attempting longer structures.
