Student answer (Band 6.0)
Digitalization has changed the way people approach entertainment. It has made access to every piece of entertainment easier. In the old times, people would designate and plan their times for entertainment such as going to cinemas for watching movies but nowadays, everything is just a click way. It has changed the means of entertainment for people at a greater extent.
While, access to every piece of entertainment provides comfort to people. For instance, if somebody comes to home from a hectic day and they just want to watch something light to freshen up their mood. They can just login to their computers and find many movies supporting their mood, while them staying in their beds. Moreover, it also saves them extra expenses and hassle of going to cinema.Another point supporting this idea is that you can access the shows or movies at anytime of the day without waiting for certain slot allocated to a specific movie.
On the other hand, it is true that the cultural essence is kinda dying because of digitalization. People dont need to make efforts for planning something like watching movies. For instance, in the previous times when somebody wanted to watch a movie they had to plan in advance and it was no less than a recreation or a way of getting closed ones together. Moreover, this has also impacted the countries economically. For example, The indian theatres generate a huge revenue of around 30 billion from cinemas but with people increasingly supporting idea of watching movies at home reduces this chance.
To sumup all these points, while cinemas are important to sustain a deep culture and sustained economy, the benefits of having access to all the entertainment online outweighs the significance of theatres. Digitalization has impacted the recreational side of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both perspectives and make your own view clear in the conclusion: online access is convenient, but cinemas retain cultural and economic value, although online entertainment ultimately outweighs their significance. The examples about watching a film after a tiring day and Indian cinema revenue are relevant. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the convenience argument has several benefits, while the cultural point is explained mainly through planning and spending time with loved ones. The economic claim is also asserted rather than fully explained, and the conclusion’s phrase “sustained economy” is not clarified. To strengthen the response, explain more specifically how cinemas support jobs or local businesses and why shared viewing has cultural value, then connect these points directly to your final judgement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting online entertainment, a contrasting paragraph about cinemas, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “To sum up” help readers follow the main direction. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Moreover” and “For instance,” and the opening “While” paragraph does not form a complete contrast with the introduction. Some relationships between ideas could also be clearer: the example about Indian theatre revenue needs a more explicit link to the economic impact of declining attendance. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, and vary transitions by showing whether the next point adds a reason, gives an example, or draws a consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “digitalization,” “access,” “cultural essence,” “revenue,” and “recreational,” so the topic is generally communicated clearly. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “a hectic day” and “allocated to a specific movie.” However, several choices are informal or imprecise for an academic essay: “kinda,” “click way,” “freshen up their mood,” and “no less than a recreation.” Some collocations are awkward, including “supporting this idea” and “sustained economy,” and “sumup” should be written as “sum up.” Aim for more precise, formal expressions and check that words combine naturally; this will make your argument sound more controlled without sacrificing clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional phrasing (“if somebody comes to home…”) and a contrast between online convenience and cinema’s value. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “if somebody comes to home” needs a different preposition, and “while them staying in their beds” is not a complete, correctly formed clause. There are also agreement and article issues in “the benefits … outweighs” and “at anytime,” as well as punctuation problems where sentences run together after “cinema.” Work on forming complete subordinate clauses, matching verbs to their subjects, and separating sentences with appropriate punctuation. More accurate control of these patterns would make the complex sentences easier to follow.
