Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, there has been an argument that in digital age, theaters and cinemas are less important as people can watch all the entertainment online according to their intrest. While others argue that the theaters and the cinemas are still beneficial in both economic and cultural view.
The major reason behind less importance to theaters and cinemas now is the availability of many other resources of entertainment to certain people. Nowadays, everyone want to see latest uploded movies or shows earlier than anyone else and they does not want to wait for such sources of entertainment. For example, many people has access to netfix or other online platforms, they get notified at the arrival of every new movie.
However, the reason behind some people argue that even now traditional platforms are crucial to both economic and cultural level is that, certain people like to watch movies or shows on big screen. They did not often go alone to theaters or cinemas, they go with their friends or loved ones. Consequently, they pay a handsome amount of money on that and this results in the growth of economy, as theaters buy it from different foreign countries. The more the people watch it, the more the money will raise in a certain country and contributes to its economy and also it is the traditional way to watch entertainment.
In my oppinion, watching films or programs on internet is more reliable because we can stop it, rewind it and also skip some parts of it. In addition, we did not have to spend high amount of money on it.
To conclude, i would say that people should encourage watching entertainment online rather than going to theaters and cinemas because it is much more effecient, fast and reliable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both perspectives and give a clear preference for online entertainment, especially in the final paragraph, where you mention convenience and cost. The examples of streaming notifications and going to the cinema with friends are relevant. However, the discussion is uneven: the online-viewing argument is explained mainly through convenience, while the economic and cultural importance of cinemas is asserted rather than fully demonstrated. For instance, “the more the people watch it, the more the money will raise” does not clearly explain how cinema revenue benefits the wider economy, and the cultural point is only called “the traditional way.” Develop each side with specific reasoning or an example, and make your position consistent from the introduction through the conclusion. (The response meets the task’s length requirement; eight words copied from the prompt were not counted.)
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “However,” “For example,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. In the cinema paragraph, the move from watching with friends to spending money, foreign countries, and national economic growth is not fully connected. Some references, such as “they” in “they pay a handsome amount,” could also be clearer. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain the link between each supporting detail and that point; avoid relying on connectors alone to create cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “online platforms,” “big screen,” “economy,” and “reliable.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the argument less clear. For example, “according to their intrest” is not a natural way to describe choosing entertainment, and “the money will raise” does not express the intended idea of increasing revenue. Spelling errors such as “intrest,” “uploded,” “oppinion,” and “effecient” are also noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing access, audience experience, and economic impact, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including a subordinate clause beginning “as people can watch” and a conditional-style comparison in “The more the people watch it…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, tense, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “everyone want” and “they does not,” where the verb forms do not agree with their subjects, and “we did not have to spend,” where the tense does not fit the general present-tense claim. The opening also needs an article in “in digital age.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement and keeping general statements in the present tense. Break up or restructure long sentences when their grammatical links are unclear.
