Student answer (Band 5.5)

Advancement in modern technology has overwhelmingly made human life easy.In early times, entertainment needed big screens whereas now it is even confined to a small phones. It is strongly argued whether theatres and cinemas are no longer needed becuase of availability of everything online or it is essential for economical boost and culturally importance.I believe theatre and cinema culture should not end as it has significant impact on personal life.

In early times, for entertainment purpose, people used to watch theatrical plays. As technology advanced, cinemas were built and more people shifted to screen entertainment.Although theatre plays were still in but entertainment was mostly overtaken by cinemas because of quality cinematography, visual and music.Still, cinema was expensive and time taken.Recently, entertainment is not confined to a big screen anymore instead many modifications are made and almost all kind of entertainments are now available online. From games to movies, all sort of means of entertainment are now available online.

Having everything online in a single platform has made feasible to have less expensive and time efficient entertainment.Nowadays, its is easy to have fun without any time restriction.People can watch movie at any time with lying on a bed but it isolates people from everyone.Cinematic experience brings ecstasy and joy to human life.It influences people to have fun and enjoy as meeting new people in cinemas brings happiness.Culture of watching movies by going to cinema relaxes mind and bring solitude to ones mind.Country also benefits from it ecnomically.it provides variety of job opportunities and increase employment numbers which in return benefit country.Being chronically online does take a toll on ones mental and physical health too.It makes people lazy.Culture of Cinematic experience makes people arrange family outing and is reason of meeting extended family which cone cannot achieve from just online entertainment.people arrange movie nights and go to arcade games with family which brings families together.

In short,it is true that having everything online does bring easiness and fast entertainment but it isolates one from world.Cinemas not only help surged countries economy but also has significant impact on cultural.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the discussion: online entertainment is presented as convenient and inexpensive, while cinemas are linked to social contact, family outings, employment and economic benefits. Your view that cinema culture should continue is also clear in the introduction and conclusion. However, the economic and cultural arguments are asserted more than explained, and the view supporting online entertainment receives less development than the opposing view. Some claims, such as cinemas benefiting the country’s economy, would be more convincing with a specific explanation or example. Develop each side more evenly and clarify how the cultural value of shared viewing differs from simply meeting people at a cinema.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to background, supporting arguments and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related points, and linking expressions such as “Although,” “Still” and “In short” help show relationships. However, progression within the long third paragraph is uneven: it moves from convenience to isolation, then cultural benefits, employment, health and family activities without clear grouping. Some connections are also difficult to follow, particularly “Culture of watching movies by going to cinema relaxes mind and bring solitude.” Use separate paragraphs for the online case and the continuing value of cinemas, and make each paragraph develop one main idea with clear references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cinematography,” “employment,” “entertainment” and “mental and physical health,” and you attempt more expressive language such as “ecstasy and joy.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make ideas unclear: “economical boost,” “time taken,” “bring solitude” and “surged countries economy” do not express the intended meanings naturally. There are also repeated general terms such as “entertainment,” “people” and “online.” Choose precise collocations and check spelling; for example, distinguish economic benefits from cultural importance, and describe cinema as offering a shared or immersive experience rather than “solitude.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “Although” and a sentence explaining that online entertainment “isolates people from everyone.” However, errors occur frequently in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles and verb forms, and they sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “its is easy,” “people can watch movie,” “bring happiness,” and “which cone cannot achieve.” Several sentences also run together without appropriate punctuation, such as the opening sentence and the final paragraph. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct singular/plural forms, and full stops between complete ideas. More accurate control of these basics would make your complex attempts easier to understand.
