Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals argue that, in this modern era, theatres and cinemas are lost their importance as people can prefer to watch movies through internet. Others say that theatres and cinemas are very beneficial for both economically and culturally. I agree with these statements, in this modern era people rely on internet and they forgot how to live happy with old cultures.
Initially, in digital age, people do not give importance to theatres and cinemas they completely depend on internet, because of busy schedule people mostly prefer to watch movies by online, they do not waste their time to visit cinemas and waste there time. Nowadays compitition rises among individuals, therefore, they do not agree to waste a minute by visit theatres when there entertainment, like watching movie is also done by online.
Secondly, in this modern era, some individuals belives that cinemas and theatre is very significant for both economically and culturally, because theateres increase economic growth of country and give livelihood to people who contribute their efforts for making movies. Earlier, watching movies in the theatre was a culture, group of people visit cinema hall and enjoy together.
In my opinion, digital era decrease importance of theatres and cinemas but, these means is not that people forgot their cultural way of entertainment and start decreasing economical growth of country. every individuals should visit cineams frequently, therefore, theatres keep live because these ways of entertainment are still important for our cultural and economical growth.
In conclusion, technology do not replace theatres and cinemas, although, increaseing internet usage extinct theatres and cinemas role. People forgot their culture and start depending on technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a view: online viewing reduces cinema attendance, while theatres support employment and preserve shared cultural experiences. These are relevant points, especially the example of groups enjoying films together. However, the position is not fully clear: “I agree with these statements” appears to support both opposing views, and the conclusion says technology does not replace cinemas while also saying their role is becoming extinct. The economic and cultural claims are introduced but not explained with specific examples or consequences. To strengthen the response, state clearly whether you believe cinemas remain important despite online alternatives, then develop each side with a concrete example and explain how it supports your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Initially,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, the introduction’s “I agree with these statements” does not clarify how the two opposing positions relate to your own view, while the conclusion repeats ideas about technology and culture without resolving that tension. Several sentences also combine multiple points with “because” or “therefore,” making the relationships harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting explanation directly to the paragraph’s main claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital age,” “economic growth,” “livelihood,” and “cultural.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “watch movies by online,” “waste their time,” and “keep live” are not natural in this context, and “importance” and “modern era” recur frequently. Spelling errors such as “compitition,” “belives,” and “cineams” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for discussing access, employment, and cultural value, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “therefore,” and “although.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “theatres and cinemas are lost their importance” has an incorrect verb form, and “every individuals should visit” has a subject–verb and number mismatch. In “people mostly prefer to watch movies by online,” the sentence pattern is not controlled, while the final paragraph contains a run-on structure and inconsistent punctuation. Practise accurate present-tense forms, subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Shorter, carefully checked sentences will help make your reasoning clearer before you attempt more complex structures.
