Student answer (Band 5.5)

there is a divided opinion of people regarding theaters and cinema over the time.some people say in the era of tecnology, anyone can watch all the entertainment online rather than going to theaters and cinema while others argues that cinema and theaters are important to keep the culture alive. i personaly belive that cinema and theaters are imoprtant for any place to keep their culture alive.

the prospect that watching entertainment online is more easy and cinemas are no longer important has its own arguments . people who support this idea say that if everything is available then why should we go somewhere to have entertainment. artists are now publishing their work online which even help them to earn money and proper recognization . all the films and theater plays are now beeing published online . in the era of tecnology , everything is available on apps like youtube netflix so you can enjoy them in your cozy conditions that are comfortable to you. as a result you can save you travel fatigue and watch everything anytime anywhere . for instance, a film is published on cinema and after sometime the producer of the film uploaded it on youtube.now he can earn good ammount from its online presence and the viewer can watch it with ease and you can enjoy it rather than make plan to do a proper activity to go and watch theater.

while on the other side people argue that cinema and theaters are important for any country both economically and to keep the tradition & cultuure alive.the main reason for that is many artists have the initial start of the career from theaters ,it helps the small artists to show their talent to world and earn some money and recognation which helps to produce more local talent .for example , iftikhar thakur is a comedian who came from local theater and now recognized by the world.so thats the reason why i suppport this view because cinema and theater both are important to keep the culture alive.

both views have their own arguments , if anyone is comfortable to watch anything online so cinemas and theaters are not much important for him while if you preffer to have real life experiance then cinemas and theaters are impotant for you.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state your own view: online access is convenient, while theatres and cinemas support artists and cultural traditions. The examples of YouTube/Netflix and Iftikhar Thakur help make the points relevant. However, the two views are not developed equally. The online argument focuses mainly on convenience and earnings, while the claim that theatres matter economically and culturally is asserted more than explained. The conclusion also makes the importance of venues depend on personal preference, which weakens the earlier position that they are important for a place’s culture. To strengthen the response, explain more specifically how venues contribute to local economies and cultural life, and make your final opinion consistent with the position in the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “while on the other side,” “for instance,” and “as a result” help signal relationships between ideas. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the long body paragraphs contain several points without clear internal organisation. The final paragraph introduces a conditional contrast about personal preference rather than clearly synthesising the discussion, so the progression of your argument is less clear at the end. Referencing can also be unclear, as in “now he can earn” after the example of a film and its producer. Use clearer topic sentences, divide related points into a logical sequence, and ensure the conclusion directly restates your considered position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “entertainment,” “artists,” “local talent,” “tradition,” and “culture alive,” and you attempt phrases such as “online presence” and “travel fatigue.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “tecnology,” “recognization,” “cozy conditions,” and “make plan to do a proper activity.” Some repetition of “important,” “online,” and “culture” also limits range. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the main ideas, but they make parts of the response less natural and precise. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations, check spelling carefully, and choose expressions that fit the intended meaning rather than translating phrases directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if everything is available then why should we go somewhere” and clauses explaining results. The main message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “others argues” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “you can save you travel fatigue” has an incorrect pronoun form. There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries, such as the opening run-on sentence and the comma splice before “so you can enjoy them.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise agreement, pronoun forms, articles, and punctuation, and review each sentence for a complete, clearly joined structure.
