Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the digital age people can easily watch movie and other form of entertainment they want online. Therefore, some believe that theatres and cinemas are no longer necessary, while other argue that they remain important for economic and cultural resons. This essay will disscuss both views, I believe cinemas still play a valueable role in society.
On the one hand, many individuals think that theatres and cinemas are no longer because online entertainment is more convenient. Nowadays, people can watch movies on YouTube and Netflix and save money not watching outside in the theatre. Moreover, watching at home is more relaxing and comfortable, they can save money and not purchasing expensive tickets. Furthermore, online platform allow people to watch anything you want comfortably. For example, students and working professionals enjoy movies whenever they have time.
On the other hand, cinemas are also crucial for the economic and cultural. Economically they provide employment for tickets seller and cleaning staff who is available all the time mostly in night. They also generate income for businesses such as restaurants and shopping centers nearby located. From a cultural perspective, more people who likes to watch at theatre for enormous screen and high quality of screen which provide 4k HD this is advanced quality only at theatre, this is unique experienced that cannot be fully replaced watching films at home.
In conclusion, entertainment online is more convenient and affordable. I believe that theatre and cinemas are more important because support economic and cultural and provide special expreience. Therefore, they are unlikely to disappear in the digital age.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear opinion: online viewing is convenient, but cinemas remain important for economic and cultural reasons. The examples of streaming services and cinema-related jobs are relevant, and the conclusion returns to your position. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The convenience argument repeats that home viewing is comfortable and saves money, while the cultural point about the large screen and picture quality is difficult to follow and needs clearer explanation. The economic claim about nearby businesses would also be stronger with a specific example or explanation of how cinemas support them. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify your position. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, particularly through repeated “Moreover” and “Furthermore,” and several ideas within the body paragraphs are loosely connected. For example, the shift from cinema employment to nearby businesses could be linked more explicitly. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its supporting explanation clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “convenient,” “employment,” “generate income,” and “cultural perspective.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “high quality” and “unique experience.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable. Phrases such as “important for the economic and cultural” and “enormous screen” are not natural in this context, while “resons,” “disscuss,” and “expreience” reduce accuracy. Repetition of “save money” and “comfortable” also limits flexibility. Build a bank of accurate collocations for discussing cultural value, audience experience, and economic impact, then check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “that,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, control is inconsistent, especially in longer sentences. For example, “watching at home is more relaxing and comfortable, they can save money” joins two independent clauses incorrectly, and “online platform allow people” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence structure in “tickets seller” and “more people who likes to watch at theatre.” Aim to make each sentence grammatically complete, check agreement and articles, and use complex structures only when you can control their clauses and punctuation.
