Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You introduce both views and give a general preference for online entertainment in the conclusion, so the response is relevant to the topic. However, the position is not consistently clear: the introduction says you agree that “both are crucial,” while the conclusion says online viewing is “more crucial.” The two sides are also only partly addressed. You explain convenience at home, but the economic and cultural importance of cinemas and theatres in the prompt is not discussed. The points about spending time with friends and making memories are relevant, yet they need explanation or a specific example to show why these venues remain important. State one clear position and develop each view with more precise supporting reasons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can identify the broad contrast between home viewing and attending venues. However, progression is uneven: the paragraph beginning “On the one hand” presents the case for cinemas, but the next paragraph repeats that they have “low level importance” without clearly connecting this point to the earlier argument. Several linking phrases, including “In subsequent perspective” and “In the subsequent conclusion,” sound mechanical or do not accurately signal the relationship between ideas. Repeated references to “people” and “cinemas and theatres” also make the flow repetitive. Organise the essay into two clearly developed viewpoints, then use a conclusion that follows directly from your stated position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, such as “entertainment,” “online system,” “crowd,” and “memories,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “very famous,” “crucial,” and “people saw movies.” Some word combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “relax their self,” “separate time,” and “low level importance,” and these sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Aim for more precise expressions for convenience, social experiences and cultural value, and vary repeated words. For example, describe online viewing as “convenient” and a cinema visit as a “shared social experience,” rather than relying on general claims about fame or importance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast introduced by “While” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “Others argues,” “cinemas and theatres was,” and “people watches”; these should use matching plural forms. The opening phrase “While the some people believe” also has an unnecessary article and creates an awkward sentence structure. Tense shifts such as “people did not prefer” and “people saw movies” are not suitable for general present-day claims. Practise building accurate present-tense sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “although,” “because” and “whereas.”
