Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You introduce both views: online entertainment is convenient, while cinemas and theatres may support the economy and preserve culture. However, the response develops only the online-view argument, explaining that watching at home saves travel time and avoids traffic. The economic and cultural claims are merely mentioned, not explained, and there is no clear personal opinion or relevant example. The task is therefore addressed only partially, with ideas remaining very limited and under-developed. The response also falls 133 words short of the required minimum, leaving too little space to discuss both sides and give a supported conclusion. To improve, explain how venues create jobs or provide shared cultural experiences, then state and justify your own position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the debate and then begins to explain why online viewing appeals to people. The linking expressions “while,” “as a result,” and “however” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the organisation is incomplete: there is no developed paragraph for the opposing view, no conclusion, and the opening phrase “on the one and” does not clearly signal the intended contrast. The use of “however” also does not fit smoothly with the point that follows. Build a clear structure with an introduction, separate paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion; use linking words only when their relationship between ideas is accurate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “theatres and cinemas,” “entertainment,” “technology,” and “hustle and bustle of traffic,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “prominent reason” and “country economy.” However, several choices are awkward or imprecise: “hold the culture well” does not naturally express preserving culture, and “importance … is reduced” is less direct than saying these venues are becoming less important. Spelling errors such as “advancment” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and precise topic vocabulary, checking spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both a complex opening sentence using “while” and a cause-and-result structure with “as a result,” showing some range beyond simple statements. The central ideas remain understandable, but grammatical control is uneven. For example, “to stuck in the hustle and bustle” uses an incorrect verb form after “to,” and “on the one and” is not a correctly formed introductory expression. The opening sentence also has awkward article and noun phrasing, while sentence-initial “however” and “on” should be capitalised. Practise accurate infinitive patterns, articles, and punctuation, and use a wider range of sentence forms while checking each sentence for correctness.
