Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this modern era everone have their own smart device, some have mobile phones and others have laptop, tv, ipads or different electronics devices. However, these devices provided a facilities to watch anthing from anywhere, so watching movies or plays in theatres and cinemas are no longer needed.
For instant, the major reason behind the decline of cinemas is netflix, a dgital cinema. Nowadays, all upcoming famous movies, webseries, talk shows and many other type of things released on this platform and people can watch after just paying a small monthly fee. This is the main cause behind the decline of theatres and cinemas. This is the reason people think that theatres and cinemas are no longer important in this digital era, where everything available at home with just one click.
People who still argue about the ecnomics and culture importance of cinemas are not aware of the role of technology in every aspects of life. Some people still gives value to their culture but if they think theatres and cinemas are still important economically is not true. However, they don't know the exact evaluation of digital applications or companies provided these soloution. Most people think about theatres and cinemas culture was essintial part of our life, we all meet with others and share our views. This will enhance our communication skills and boost our confident. For example, alot of films recently realesed in pakistan but when I visted cinema personally half of the seats are empty. When i asked to people through social media platforms about why no one want to go for physically, everyone say they don't have much time so they will watch it online.
In my perspective, people who say theatres and cinemas are no longer important are right. However, in this digital era we can watch anything online very easily and even without going to anywhere. If we go to somewhere, it's must be time taking plus taraffic issues too. Even in this time we can watch two or three movies online.
People talk about the theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally are not on right track because in this digital era we can identify anything. For instant, the overall value of netflix a digital platform is in billions but theatres and cinemas numbers are declining continuesly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a clear overall view that online entertainment has made cinemas less important, and you give relevant reasons such as convenience, subscription costs and traffic. You also refer to the opposing view by mentioning cinemas’ cultural role in bringing people together. However, the discussion is only partial: the economic argument is dismissed rather than explained, and the cultural case is not developed before you reject it. The Pakistan cinema example and the Netflix comparison could support your points, but the evidence is limited and the claim that Netflix’s value proves cinemas are unimportant is not fully explained. To strengthen the response, explain both sides more evenly and develop your own position with clearer reasoning and relevant support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with separate paragraphs for online viewing, the opposing view and your opinion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the second paragraph moves from economic importance to culture, communication skills and an example without clearly linking these points. Connectors such as “However” and “For instant” are repeated or do not always show the relationship between ideas accurately. Some references are also difficult to follow, particularly “they don’t know the exact evaluation” and “everyone say they don’t have much time.” Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main point, and make links between claims and examples explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital era,” “monthly fee,” “communication skills” and “decline,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, which sometimes makes the reader work to understand your meaning. For example, “digital cinema” does not clearly describe Netflix, and “the overall value of Netflix” is vague in this comparison. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “everone,” “soloution” and “continuesly.” Build a more precise range for discussing economic and cultural effects, and check spelling and collocations carefully so your ideas are expressed more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional-style example beginning “If we go to somewhere,” and sentences linked with “because” and “however.” Nevertheless, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “everyone have,” “these devices provided a facilities,” “people still gives value,” and “everyone say.” Some clauses are also awkwardly formed, such as “People talk about the theatres and cinemas are still important…” Aim to produce accurate basic sentences first, checking subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, then add complex clauses with clear grammatical links. Punctuation and capitalisation also need more consistent checking.
