Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state your position: “both are important.” The response gives relevant reasons, including online access and convenience on one side, and employment, ticket income, and cultural traditions on the other. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The online argument mainly repeats that people can watch films on phones and save time, while the claim that cinemas maintain cultural traditions is asserted rather than explained with a specific example. Your opinion is also broad; clarify whether you see the two forms of entertainment as equally important or serving different needs. The response meets the task’s length requirement. To strengthen the answer, explain each reason and connect it more directly to the question of theatres’ and cinemas’ continuing importance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the contrast, and the examples are placed with the relevant arguments. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated “They argue” and “For example” patterns. Some links between ideas are unclear: the warning about restricting technology and future challenges does not explain how it supports the first viewpoint or your position. The conclusion also introduces “maintain theatres or cinemas and online entertainment carefully” without developing what this means. Improve cohesion by making each sentence build on the previous point and using clearer references and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital technology,” “economic growth,” “cultural traditions,” “new jobs,” and “tickets.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “important for economically and culturally,” “entertainig yourself,” and “salings some food items.” Spelling errors such as “tradations” and “dont” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, particularly in the sentence about cinemas earning money. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing convenience, cultural value, employment, and revenue, and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession in “Although both have their own opinion…” and conditional forms such as “If we dont do this…”. However, the range is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. Examples include “young generation using mobiles phone,” “when any individual use mobile,” and “Both cinema and theaters are help to creates new jobs,” where subject–verb agreement and verb forms are not controlled. There are also errors in articles, plurals, and sentence construction, as in “the people's are come.” These patterns can make the reader pause, even though the main message is generally understandable. Practise accurate present-tense clauses and subject–verb agreement, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
