Student answer (Band 6.0)

Opinions differ among some people about the significance of cinema houses. Certain people states that in modern era people are prefering to watch movies online which decreses the necessity of cinema halls, while some people argue that they still carries economical and cultural benifits. This assay will argue both the sides and I personally agree with the latter side.

One of the major reasons to which youngsters are shifting to online flatforms is access to installations of apps on which majority of flims are streamed. Because young people as eddicted to thier mobiles, this seems benfical to them as a result they avoid cinemas. Furthermore, different levels of memberships can be avail on apps with substantial advantages such as no ads, no interval, same day streaming (on release day) and HD quality. This provides them comfortable experience in just a click. For instance, Netflix is an entertaimnet app, on which we can get subscription to watch latest released movies, this is far better than travelling to the cinema hall and waiting long to get tickets. This redices the importance of theatres in young generations.

However, developments and expansion of theaters and cinemas gives drastic rise in counties economic and cultural significane, this can be seen as increase in number of cinemas provides great profits to the box office which inturns goes to the government and helps in the countries overall development. Moreover, cinemas reflect the culture of the country by showcasing floktales on the big screens. For example, Ramayan was the flim which gain considerable watchers and helped them to absorb cultural significance of the hindu tradition, with increase TRP this flim contrinuted in the economical development at the same time its learning improved cultural aspects of viewers .

In conclusion, although the introduction of online apps and special memberships provides mvoies on online platforms, its benefits to the economical growth with increase in profits and cultural significance such as folktales on big screens are still greater. In my view, theatres and cinemas strikes a balnace between the development and growth of countries, and should not be closed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and state a clear preference for the continuing importance of cinemas, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The online-entertainment paragraph gives relevant reasons—convenience, subscriptions and avoiding travel or ticket queues—and the cinema paragraph discusses economic and cultural value. These points meet the task, but they are not equally developed: the economic claim that cinema profits benefit the government is asserted rather than explained, and the Ramayan example needs clearer context to show how it demonstrates both cultural and economic impact. Your position is present, though the claim that cinemas “should not be closed” could be supported with a more specific reason. More precise explanation and evidence would make the discussion more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, some connections are abrupt or unclear. For example, the move from cinema numbers to government development in “which inturns goes to the government” does not explain the relationship, while the final sentence of the cultural example combines several ideas without clear progression. Some references, including “this” and “its,” have uncertain antecedents. To strengthen cohesion, make each paragraph’s central point explicit and use clearer links between claim, explanation and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “subscription,” “box office,” “cultural significance” and “economic development,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable throughout, sometimes making the text harder to process: examples include “flims,” “benfical,” “entertaimnet,” “floktales” and “contrinuted.” Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “installations of apps,” “same day streaming” and “drastic rise in counties economic.” This limits the range and control of your vocabulary despite relevant topic language. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, rather than translating them word by word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including clauses beginning with “Because” and “although,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors persist in sentence construction, verb forms and agreement. For example, “Certain people states” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, “people are prefering” uses an incorrect verb pattern, and “theaters and cinemas gives” does not agree with its plural subject. The long sentence beginning “this can be seen as increase” is also difficult to control, with clauses joined in a way that obscures their relationships. Work on agreement, articles and sentence boundaries, and revise complex sentences to ensure each clause has a clear subject and verb. More consistently accurate sentences would improve clarity.
