Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemprrory society, Age of technology people all over the world use phones for entertainment rather than going to the cinema. Some people argue that in digital age theatres and cinemas are not crucial for citizen, while concered that theatres and cinemas are still important for both economically and culturally. I strongly agreed that theaters and cinemas significant for country and society development.
To began with, in modern era significant figure of people use phones for watching movies, play games. Due to hectic life style such as long working hours 10 to 12 hour. In addition, they save time and prefer to watch online. Furthermore, watch at home is more flexiable and affordable. For example, Many young people perfer watch on phones, they pay cheap amount for Netflix and enjoy whole month.
secondly, movie theatres contribute significantly to the local economy by creating employemnts opportunities likewise create jobs , tourism, tax, local shops near cinemas sells food. However, cinema creates social experience, big screen, community feeling. For instance, watching movie at home, going to the cinema is a collective experience. While online platforms offer convienience, they cannot replicate the atmosphee of a theatre.
As far as I concerned, they are still cruical for both socializing and economically. Creates jobs for actors, staff and secuity. Secondly, they support local business like restaurants and shop near. Finally bring money from turiosts and pay taxes to the government. So, they boost ecnomy.Cultuarlly, they provide a collective social experience.
In conclusion, although online entertainment is convenient, I belive that venues are paramount for economy and preserve culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear opinion: online viewing is convenient, but theatres remain important economically and culturally. Relevant support includes the time and affordability benefits of streaming, as well as cinema jobs, tourism, taxes and the shared viewing experience. However, the two views are not developed equally: the case for online entertainment is brief, and some points about cinemas are listed rather than explained. For example, “they boost economy” would be stronger with a specific explanation of how cinema spending benefits local businesses or workers. Your conclusion restates your position, but the cultural argument could be developed more fully throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting the two perspectives, a paragraph giving your view, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument understandable. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes uneven, and several ideas are joined mechanically or left as fragments. For instance, “Due to hectic life style such as long working hours 10 to 12 hour” does not form a complete sentence, while “However” introduces a point that supports cinemas rather than contrasting clearly with the preceding idea. The repeated use of “Furthermore,” “Secondly,” and “Finally” also makes connections feel list-like. Use complete topic sentences and clearer links showing how each example supports the paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital age,” “local economy,” “collective experience,” “tourism,” and “taxes,” so the reader can follow the main ideas. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “important,” “create,” and “jobs,” as well as inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations. Examples include “flexiable,” “atmosphee,” “cruical,” and “boost ecnomy”; these errors make the writing less precise and occasionally slow the reader. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “pay cheap amount” and “significant figure of people.” Build a more accurate set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “Due to” and a contrast introduced by “While.” However, sentence control is inconsistent, and some errors affect clarity. “To began with” uses the wrong verb form, while “I strongly agreed that theaters and cinemas significant” has an incorrect verb form and is missing a linking verb. There are also fragments, such as “Creates jobs for actors, staff and secuity,” and problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, as in “So, they boost ecnomy.Cultuarlly.” Work on complete subject–verb structures, articles, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence to ensure it expresses a full idea.
