Student answer (Band 5.0)
Theatres and Cinemas plays vital role in any nation's entertainment industry as they help build a nation's artistic prespective globally and also contribute to the nation's economic and cultural growth.
In this digital era, where every person has a global village in their pocket size mobile phones, this could led to the decrease in the interest of people towards theatres and cinemas because they couldnot feel this to be very productive to pay for soemthing that could also be available to them in their small screen sized phones and also that would be of free of cost. In addition to it, now a days people are too much consumed in their work from both professional and personal perspective that they could see going to cinemas and theatres as something waste of time, and in this fast paced world people couldnot spare muchtime for these activities and especially when they have a more suitable alternative to it. As the result, the number of people who goes to cinemas and theatres seems to be decreasing with time.
As far as the economic and cultural growth is concerned, cinemas and theatres holds a significant importance because when people come together to see a play they are not just sharing a place, they are holding a common culural perspective about it and how their common values g

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You introduce the topic and explain one relevant reason people may prefer online entertainment: it is convenient, inexpensive, and avoids travel or time spent going out. However, the response only partially addresses the prompt. The view that theatres and cinemas remain economically and culturally important is introduced, but the final paragraph is cut off at “their common values g,” so its explanation and supporting example are missing. Your own opinion is also not clearly stated, and the discussion of both views is therefore incomplete. The response is 27 words below the required minimum, which further limits the development of your ideas. To improve, complete both sides of the discussion, state your position directly, and support each main point with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about online viewing, and a paragraph beginning to discuss cultural and economic value. Linking phrases such as “In addition to it” and “As far as … is concerned” help signal changes in focus. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph ends mid-sentence, leaving the second view and the essay’s conclusion undeveloped. Several ideas in the long second paragraph are joined together, making the reasoning harder to follow, and “As the result” does not connect the preceding points smoothly. Organise the body into clearly focused paragraphs, use shorter sentences where several reasons are being explained, and finish with a conclusion that restates your view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “entertainment industry,” “economic and cultural growth,” and “common cultural perspective,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “fast paced world,” though some are inaccurate or unnatural and make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Examples include “global village in their pocket size mobile phones,” “free of cost,” and “holds a significant importance.” Spelling errors such as “prespective,” “soemthing,” and “culural” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; precise phrases such as “access entertainment on their phones” and “plays a significant role” would express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt complex sentences, particularly when explaining why people may choose online entertainment, and you use subordinate clauses beginning with “where” and “because.” However, the range is limited and these longer structures often contain errors. For example, “Theatres and Cinemas plays” has subject–verb disagreement, while “this could led” uses an incorrect verb form. In “the number of people who goes,” the verb does not agree with its subject, and “people … see going … as something waste of time” has an incomplete grammatical construction. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea at a time, then add subordinate clauses once the basic structure is secure.
