Student answer (Band 5.0)
First of all, I would like to discuss the first idea that people says, cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment online.
So lets start with advantages of watching movies or shows in homes.
First advantage is that, you don't have to travel 10 or 15 kilometers away from home to only watch a show.
Second advantage is you won't have to buy expensive snacks usually, in theaters or cinemas they don't allow you to bring snacks from outside cafes or stores. They want you to buy from their own shops, which are inside the theater and really expensive.
Now lets, discuss about the second idea why theaters and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.
Theatres and cinemas are economically important because they contribute huge amount of money to our economy.
Secondly these are not that much expensive for the general public to watch movies, shows and dramas.
And why these cinemas and theatres are important culturally, because it can make family gatherings easy usually all the family friends, members book tickets and enjoy together.People can learn different languages , cultures through cinemas. They can protect traditional stores. Cinemas can also raise several issues in our society like poverty, lack of education, discrimination etc, and it also helps in employment because of cinemas theatres a lot of actors, actress, directors are being hired.
Therefore cinemas remains an important part of society and contributes a lot to our economies.
I have discussed, both ideas for the general view.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and give a clear final preference for the continuing importance of cinemas, with relevant points about convenience, snack costs, employment, and cultural learning. However, the discussion is only partial: the online-entertainment view is supported mainly by two practical advantages, while the economic case for cinemas is asserted rather than explained, and several cultural points are listed without examples or development. The conclusion repeats the general position but does not clearly weigh the two sides. The response contains 233 words, so it is 17 words below the 250-word minimum; the 21 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop fewer points with specific explanations or examples, and make your own opinion explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure, moving from online viewing to the continuing role of cinemas, and signposting phrases such as “First of all” and “Secondly” help identify the sequence. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited: the second paragraph lists advantages, and the later paragraph shifts quickly between family gatherings, language learning, social issues, and employment. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including “And why these cinemas and theatres are important culturally, because…” The final sentence, “I have discussed, both ideas for the general view,” does not provide an effective concluding summary. Use a clearer paragraph plan, connect each supporting point to the main argument, and use referencing and transitions more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “economically,” “culturally,” “discrimination,” and “employment.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “important,” “cinemas,” and “theatres.” Some collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “contribute huge amount of money to our economy,” “protect traditional stores,” and “raise several issues.” These choices sometimes make the intended point less clear. Aim for more precise expressions and vary repeated terms; for example, explain whether cinemas support local businesses, preserve cultural traditions, or bring economic benefits through ticket sales and jobs. Check spelling and word forms as well, including “lets” where “let’s” is intended.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most ideas remain understandable, and you attempt some longer structures, such as the sentence beginning “Cinemas can also raise several issues in our society.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. Examples include “people says” instead of “people say,” “First advantage is that” without an article, and “cinemas remains” instead of “cinemas remain.” The sentence “And why these cinemas and theatres are important culturally, because it can make…” is an incomplete and faulty construction, with unclear pronoun reference. Commas are also misplaced, as in “Now lets, discuss.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build controlled complex sentences using clear subjects and complete clauses.
